@DartNode @keoir Guys what's going on? The servers are down and the website is not reachable https://app.dartnode.com
It was down for hours, now it's backup. What happened? @DartNode
My VPS has been so unstable the past 2-3 days. Constantly crashes, very slow. The wordpress site that's on it that has 0 traffic takes 12 seconds to load.
It's honestly getting a bit exhausting and frustrating now. I'm more troubleshooting on the server instead of doing something else.
if I was still in the 7-day refund window I probably would've taken that option now, I'm so done with it
More than happy to give you a refund, open a ticket and we'll close out your account
i dont rlly wanna move i'd rather stay, seems right now its working somewhat again.
sometimes it has dips for a hour or two it completely zones out. are you able to check this for me please?
The panel was having issues due to a bug. Bug is being addressed, panel went back up.
No network alarms were triggered, all host nodes were reporting up, all of our services reported 0 downtime as well. Not sure why your server would have been down but we are looking into potential root causes.
BTW yes the disk speeds were in the beginning slow (i dont wanna check it rn in case it triggers the suicide button on the vps), but it never made the vps itself unstable. this is completely new
i've today downloaded all my data and tried rebuiling, but to no avail
Looking into it, do you happen to have specific times so I can investigate further?
i had made a ticket today on the exact time it was happening, ticket id 2140. i'm not sure on the time since it just says "1 hour ago"
Got it! Looking into root cause.
It was completely down pings weren't reaching for almost 4 hours (or more). Once the panel was back up, I noticed there was no metrics loading for my server and the power on switch was enabled, upon clicking on it showed gateway timeout error. Somehow after a while the server came back up, I guess you guys interfered or it just automatically came back up.
I'm going to look into it, however I can confirm that the network was up during that time as we had tickets coming in, metrics collected from our machines, and services uninterrupted. The control panel was down for about 20 minutes around 4:30AM CST.
It might be isolated to your VM or a routing problem, will drill into it deeper with @keoir

The issue is back again, the main site's taking forever to load. I wasn't able to access my server through SSH, but after some retries I somehow got into the server, but there's high latency and packet loss

Status page reflects that as well. Are we under attack or something?
https://status.dartnode.com/
Status page mentions Cogent routing issues as the culprit.
@DartNode The disk issue has gotten worse again
last chance entry, count me in!
I ended up cancelling my dart node, the inconsistent disk issues and site slowdowns were just getting too much for us.
Again from a customer service they were always good when they responded but it takes up to 24 hrs usually. For a site to be "half down" for a full day we just couldn't rely on it.
I do think once they get their platform figured out they have something good here to build off of.
We appreciate the constructive feedback. We are hard at work to iron things out to create a more stable platform.
I agree they are very friendly, but the time they take to respond has deteriorated so much recently, a week or two ago they were responding fairly quicker, but these days it's once per day mostly. (Sometimes it's even days)
And yes, their service quality is so bumpy.
Also at the same time they offer free services such as BGP even in their cheapest plans (10$ / y)
Hey Tom,
I sincerely apologize if you've been feeling ignored or that our response times have been slower than expected. We’re actively working to resolve the ongoing issues, and while that has unfortunately affected our response times, please know that this is not the standard we hold ourselves to, and that we are focused on getting back to our usual level of service.
We aim to provide updates at least once every 24 hours, but I understand that results are ultimately what matter most. In our current situation, prioritizing more frequent updates would slow down our progress on fixing the underlying issues. As part of our approach, we are balancing ticket responses with resolving the ongoing technical problems. We're also working on expanding our night coverage (local time) to provide more timely updates and reduce the strain on our operational team.
I’m glad you still see the value in the services we offer, especially with features like BGP included in even our most affordable plans. Please know that we are working tirelessly to restore stability to the service and make this situation right.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we push through this challenging period.
