I'm being told my router hosted at dedipath is down because the "Physical port is down, both ipmi and lan." But its literally a Mikrotik router. But that reply was less than 5 minutes ago. So are they buying time or am i having a power issue or something??
Physical port being down would indicate that they havent paid their upstream transit provider
I am online!!!
Dedipath that crashes constantly is the actual Dedipath.
I've decided to move on, will rather build my own setup in a different facility as this is nuts.
If there is no proper explanation and solution, I'll have to move on as well
seems like this is the fastest way to purge!
I remember using dedipath in the past. They couldn't fix a DoS attack that continued 24/7 for weeks against my VPS despite paying for protection, and a lot of back and forth with their (outsourced) support, sending tcpdumps, and claiming it was "fixed" (it was not).
It doesn't surprise me that they are still operating so unprofessionally.
These sorts of replies make it hard for those actually looking for real updates on this.
I don't see how this is relevant to what's going on here. I think it'll be best to wait to hear back from dedipath or one of their customers with a real update.
You aren't going to hear back a real update here, they no longer have a rep that is on LET.
Assuming Ernie left, then yes, you won't get an official update here. But, you may hear from at least someone associated or related to DediPath who may give some more context.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I noticed that both LAX and NJ have transit from specifically UnitasGlobal.
Today I had some PL issues in LAX that looks to have been due to Unitas, it may have been related to the outage yesterday.
Are they single homed there?
If it was just due to UNITAS, they would have told me by now, but nobody will utter a word
It seems that EthernetServers are already moving servers into new datacenter since got email:
And in their client panel:
Good move, EthernetServers.
Nope, Unitas/INAP + Lumen. It's definitely not a Unitas issue.
@fluffernutter do you see lumen still in the mix?
https://bgp.tools/prefix/140.99.154.0/24#connectivity
Yes.
I got virmach vps at 4 different dedipath locations and everything is operating normally. do you guys expect a runner or something?
When multiple locations go down at once from the same data center you sometimes wonder about this.
That or they really buggered up something network wise across multiple locations which could be the case but this is where communication is key. It would be different if there was a planned work being done or something. However, human errors sometimes do pop up.
It looks like the string 'dedipath.com' is being scrubbed from WHT as well.
US location down for me
The silence isn't good. The end is nigh.
Agreed, this seems super shady.
Obviously WHT censoring Dedipath is not a good thing, as users should know what is going on there so they can plan migration. I see Ethernetservers already migrating their servers out of them so its a good move on George rather than abruptly getting his servers shutdown leaving users stranded.
Little confused here.
So is EthernetServers a dedipath customer or the provider for dedipath?
Customer.
For those seeking alternatives (colo/dedi), you may wish to opt for providers in significantly better facilities. Eg. Purevoltage in Telehouse for NYC.
Happy to offer anyone looking to migrate their dedicated server a deal. PM me for a quote!
