Alexhost is such a scam! They promise a 30 day money back guarantee, but if you want to use it, they try to talk their way out of it. The support says I used a copoun and that's why I couldn't get a refund.

thanks for the reply, but I'd like to clarify a few things:
1. Promo Code Policy: I understood that AlexHost has stated in the T&Cs that there is no refund policy when using a promo code. But the problem is that such clauses are not automatically legally binding if they violate consumer protection laws.
2 Right of cancellation in Moldova: According to Moldovan consumer protection law (Law No. 105/2003), consumers have a right of withdrawal from distance contracts (e.g. online purchases). This right applies regardless of internal company policies and can only be restricted in certain exceptional cases regulated by law (e.g. in the case of fully performed services with prior consent). The use of a promo code is not such an exceptional case. Companies are also obliged to inform consumers of their right of cancellation before the contract is concluded - only mention in the T&C is not enough - if this is not done, this do further strengthen the consumer's position.
I have given AlexHost a final deadline to cancel the contract and issue a refund. If this does not happen, I will contact the Moldovan consumer protection authorities and take legal action. In addition, I will submit a chargeback request to my bank to get my money back.
If anyone has had similar experiences or has any tips on how to proceed, I would be delighted to hear your opinions!

In Moldova, the right to return goods is regulated by the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights No. 105-XV of March 13, 2003.
According to this law, the consumer has the right to return or replace a product of inadequate quality. However, there are some nuances, such as discounted goods - if the discount is provided due to a defect or other reason about which the buyer was notified in advance (and we notify about discounts in invoices and on the website) - such goods cannot be returned (Article 18 of the law).

We can refuse to give money back if is explicit in TOS/AUP, when coupon is used or not.
No, you can't legally put the consumer in a worse position than the law allows with terms, only in a better one.
You can only do this with B2B customers.
The above means: If the product has a defect and is sold at a discount because of the defect, the consumer can't demand a refund because of this.
You can't just take "which the buyer was notified in advance" out of context and apply it to all cases.
With that said, it is very unlikely that a DMCA-free customer would complain, but you are not playing by the book.
(Moldovan consumer protection laws are roughly the same as EU consumer laws.)
In fact, I had purchased the web hosting without any intentions of taking advantage of the DMCA ignoring hosting. My content is fully DMCA compliant.
Legally, I would have realistically left it at chargeback, maybe complaining to the Moldovan market surveillance authority or the equivalent. Of course I wouldn't have sued for ~ 10€.
In the end, however, I was able to agree that I would get the amount back as account credit, so that I can now actually rent a VPS.
