Sounds like Bangladeshi scammers praising for GVH? What that chanting means?
...i only hear mudjahid mudjahid jahid...jihad?
Your username always makes me picture someone getting an epic face-full of man-milk. I know that’s my problem rather than yours.
i wondered why he posts some of the things he does! is there a list of paid posters so i dont accidentally read any pp?
edit: wait how much does it pay? is it per word?
Everyone contributing articles to LEB is being paid.
yea but i dont use leb, go make me a list
It’s only @raindog308 and @Not_Oles, but there are occasionally ‘guest’ writers that are totally random as Noles is forever asking people to write articles with him.
Who's this guy? I don't remember this.
They call him:
This is the guy I'm imagining.
I'm spot on right?
you are welcum!
I might get some from discord who can translate this.
RaidForums have been shut down by the police, do you know any other alternative forums?
Might as well shoot an email to Brian Krebs, though I suspect he would most likely respond in his usual sarcastic tone.
I really don't want you to.
I admit that I am curious to see what Jonathan Nguyen has to say about the path that his life has taken, the lessons he has learned along the way, and his plans for the future.
From watching his activities on LET over the years, it was clear and obvious that he had serious personal issues. He needed real help and guidance from people around him who cared. In my opinion, the fact that he has agreed to appear here on LET to answer questions is concerning, for his sake. I do not view it as a positive step for his long term success.
I know a few people who served prison time for computer-related offenses and turned their lives around. Most of them kept their heads down, avoided the limelight, and focused on their work and their career to build their reputations over the years. They did it through simple, quiet competence. It took years, even decades. (There are exceptions where persons sought notoriety after their release, notably Kevin Mitnick and Frank Abagnale.)
For his sake, let us hope that Jonathan Nguyen has found new purpose and new focus in life. Jonathan will forever be a convicted felon, and that will impose significant challenges that most people here will never face. Trust is earned, and it will take a very long time for Jonathan to earn that trust.
In my opinion, an "ask me anything" here on LET is a poor direction to go for starters. We will know more after we read his responses here. He has a rare chance to start over. I will try to be forgiving and respectful, to give him that chance. I hope he makes the most of the opportunity.

Is that where you discovered gravatar e-mail exploit that you used to send phishing e-mails?
But that was you. Why are you asking him?
As it turns out, the one accusing others of having brain lesions is the one actually having them, probably a case of multiple personality disorder.
Why aren't we asking the real questions?
Like, are you planning to pay for a provider tag?
I think you mean $10 worth of ichiban packets.
Sapporo Ichiban? They are not bad.
Holy crap that brings back some memories. I especially enjoyed the 'for immediate release' press statements.
Good times.
yea i kinda miss nugs being an active seller on here, it was a lot of fun.
His case does really show how draconian U.S. laws are.
Verdict: year in prison, no probation.
Where I live, if you pay back the stolen money, the case is dropped, and first time offenders almost always get probation, especially if they're that young.
Meanwhile in Soviet Russia, a lead developer for a major Node.js library runs over 2 people on his motorcycle, killing one - gets only 6 more months than Johnny.
Where do you live?
"Draconian?" No. Far too lenient, actually. I mean, here you have someone who's caused a huge headache for people, burned police time, burned court time, etc. And only a year?
Light sentences are a ticket to commit crimes until you are caught.
I had no idea the USSR was developing Node.JS prior to its collapse in 1991. They foresaw both HTTP and Javascript and had the insight to try combining them. They had a 28-year head start on the west....fascinating.
In a country that has way lower crime rate.
Come on, it's not like he robbed an old lady on the street. Not a single uninsured dollar was stolen. Plus there is a whole lot of mitigating factors that I mentioned. He's no Bernie Madoff. This whole ordeal would've been solved without any law enforcement involvement if it wasn't a matter of policy.
USSR is still alive and strong!
Comparing Johnny to actual criminals:
Giga carder Roman Seleznev - 1 year in prison for each $6.2 million stolen and mostly because he did everything he could to obstruct the justice process
Martin Shkreli - 1 year in prison for each $9.1 million defrauded
Johnny - 1 year for mere $250,000. That he paid back! Laughable!
His real crime is that he stole too little and the sentence reflects that. Let that be a lesson to us all.
After quick Googling, some cases from my country:
$125,000; 4 years probation
$260,000; 8 years probation - didn't even go to trial
$300,000; 3 years probation
All of them for outright fraud against actual people, not financial institutions (carding hasn't really worked in the EU for quite some time). And it's not like they returned any money either.
To be fair, killing any witnesses or victims, taking as much in one shot as possible, and ensuring you never disclose anything to police without a lawyer and agreement expressly created has always been extremely advantageous.
