@webcraft said: So you rather want to be throttled to 100MBit/s right away instead of being allowed to burst to 1GBit/s for a limited time?

For my use case, non-production hobbyist things, I'm happy with an 100Mbit port.

Throttling can occur even with 100 Mbit data port.

My guess is that the port throttling to 20 Mbps is based on data downloaded in last one hour. The provider has not explained when throttling kicks in.

I will make it more clear next time.

The best price I have found so far for a 1 gbps is $2/mbps. So if you need sustained 10 mbps the costs associated with just the bandwidth is $20/month. If somebody knows of a better price please let me know.

I don't think there should be a speed limit because it pauses when you run out of 2Tb.

I actually wanted to thank everybody for their criticism because it has pushed me to look for a better solution. I believe within the next month I will have full 1 gbps speed, maybe 2 months. We are still working out the details. It will be better service for clients and cost savings for me. So its good for everybody.

That sounds great. I have the $3.50 VPS and it would inspire me to use it If the bw can be improved. Please let us know If/When you get it working.

I just learned that the bandwidth provider will not be in that particular build until the end of Q1 this year. So it looks like a couple of months.

  • Hello, I tested the disk writing speed, but it is slow. I thought NVMe is faster.

    root@test:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/test1.img bs=1G count=1 oflag=dsync
    1+0 records in
    1+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 39.1326 s, 27.4 MB/s
    root@test:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/test2.img bs=512 count=1000 oflag=dsync
    1000+0 records in
    1000+0 records out
    512000 bytes (512 kB, 500 KiB) copied, 92.5723 s, 5.5 kB/s

Virtualizor panel server id is 1756

  • I wish i could find this offers somewhere into EU !

It turns out that the weak CPU causes the problem.

WOW! Not even the KS1 has that bad values

  • They were very reliable.
Unfortunately, the disk i/o seems to be a big issue in the recent past. I belive there are some abusers on the node who needs to be restricted.
I was transferred to a different node but still the cpu steal reaches upto 40-50. Hope it will be fixed shortly.

Yes, indeed it looks like there's an abuser working on the node. Unfortunately, the support isn't taking care of in time.

I got a lot of signups in January, a lot more than expected. I was supposed to have a new server last week but the board was malfunctioning so I had to order a replacement. If all goes well the issue will be resolved by the end of the week.

I just would like to add that Floyd and LittleCreek hosting has probably the best support I have ever seen here. The man is not only an expert in DA but has the patience of an Elephant that has been stepped on. One can NOT find this level of service for these kind of prices!

  • MaxMind has deemed your order to be potentially high risk and therefore it has been held for manual review.

Guys keep in mind that none of these tests matter right now and it only makes things worse. Check again in April when I will have plenty of bandwidth. In a couple of days the CPU performance will better. All of this has already been mentioned.

Wow this thread was a complete disaster offer for @LittleCreek - I feel bad

I would maybe close orders until April comes around or until the issues have been fixed, it would likely result in less unhappy customers + less VM's on each node.

Tomorrow will bring relief on the CPU load. Bandwidth will be first week of April. This has been explained several times. Most (about 90%) have been very understanding and have not cancelled. I had about 4 times the normal amount of signups in January and I was not prepared for that.
