  • Had several sys2 come in the past 24 hours no luck with the 16tb club however some have 10gbit down so can’t complain

SYS-1-SAT-32 France available. Got no luck with 16 TB. Will not order anymore for the lottery, LOL.

to be fair I doubt there ever was any 16TB on the SYS-1 ... only SYS-2 and only France.

Someone got it in this thread

who? probably hearsay, rumors or the likes... ;-) ;-)

Too lazy to go back and check but it was along the lines of '16TB comes to SYS 1'

yeah I think I read that too. but still, I wouldn't trust it. if you think about it the whole 16TB saga is about availability of hardware, so obviously it is going to be very location dependant. maybe even down to a single specific location in france.

all the people who 'tried' to gamble for it in other DCs overlooked the fact that SYS most likely won't send/interchange supplies between these DCs constantly. more likely each DC has it's own source and stock. so there is no reason to put in 4TB disks unless you really ran out at some location. sending stock from other DCs is probably more expensive than using/buying larger disks.

so with that said, you'd need to have the exact location that's affected and SYS would have to have both products (SYS-1 vs SYS-2) running in that DC. maybe they deploy SYS-1 only in RBX and SYS-2 in RBX (with 2T disk) and (with 16TB) in GRA ...

of course my guess is just as good as others, however. don't trust nobody. ;-) ;-)

After waiting 10 days for my server (SYS-2) to be delivered, I got 16 TB, D-1541, 10 Gbps and IPMI. I'm super happy about it!

    10Gbps In or In/Out?

10Gbps download and 250 Mbps upload.

Yeah, upload speed isn't great compared but as advertised so cannot complain really; rock solid switch and brand new disks/part of ERI which for SYS is not a common thing. Already use OVH as a whole so just simply sticking with existing providers primarily.

They're using Samsung PM9A1 MZVL2512HCJQ, some of the best performing disks I've seen OVH use to be honest have to say; brand new as well for this machine built today so.

Which nvme model are they using? beside upload speed this is really good for the price

They're using Samsung PM9A1 MZVL2512HCJQ, some of the best performing disks I've seen OVH use to be honest have to say; brand new as well for this machine built today so.

Can you check what the motherboard is out of interest? Should be visible in lshw and/or dmidecode

And I take it there is ipmi?

Apart from the send speed everything is beautiful. Cant you get similar specs but much better network at similar prices? For example from mevspace? @NicholasOXI

Yeah, upload speed isn't great compared but as advertised so cannot complain really; rock solid switch and brand new disks/part of ERI which for SYS is not a common thing. Already use OVH as a whole so just simply sticking with existing providers primarily.

If anyone was interested in a SYS-6; here is a YABS for that (ERI).

The motherboard is a AsRock Rack EPYCD8-2T, it does have IPMI; quite fancy IPMI by OVH standards.

I just also got another SYS-2 in RBX6, 10gbp/s and 16TB. Took over 15 days to deploy this one but seems I've been very lucky; brand new disks (6 power on hours).

I also got SYS-2 with 16TB, 10gbps/s and brand new disks. 16 ip address at $1.5/each one time is really good as many services can be moved to this server

Got one SYS-2 4x2TB in Frankfurt yesterday. 4x2tb used disks, for those wondering. Happy, as it meets my needs.
