Some next level plays by @MaxKVM here... People were talking about putting everything in cart and counting backwards to figure out which plan had the discount. So they let the coupon apply to two different plans.

I'm the first one proposed this "everything in cart" method. I should be attributed, not "people". If this method helped you before @MaxKVM beat me today, please do some push-ups in my honor.

The end is nigh. This is the age of information. Why bother selling goods and services? It's too hard to operate summer hosts now. Instead, become an affiliate marketer for hosts

I operate a successful summer host. Paid plans were sold out in an hour.

I haven't been able to get any dollars / push-ups from hosting affiliate links.

Finally, I got 1 to replace my 4G-4CPU!

Why is everyone going after bigger and bigger boxes?
Optimize the code, and use smaller boxes that are better for the environment.

I've been canceling 2GB / 4GB, and getting 1GB in more diverse locations.
Very few coupons could apply to the SKVM-1G, and none to the SKVM-512M…

My bad, though admittedly I thought of this solution myself and would not have shared it  So you do deserve some credit.

I would like to propose a new business idea for your next venture. You could potentially operate an autumn/winter host with wind power, since those seasons are usually windier than summer. (Antarctica happens to be the windiest place in the world apparently) If you hire some electrical engineers and do proper planning, I'm sure you can find an optimal setup to keep your servers running throughout the year.

@yoursunny said: Why is everyone going after bigger and bigger boxes?

Idle 2x the resources => 2x the fun
    Idle even more => ???

Anyway, I realize we are straying too far off-topic. I noticed this on the ticket email from @MaxKVM:

The email is in English everywhere else, but the priority and status is in Chinese.

Dude, that's 4000+ computing power with 158GB RAM only cost 5.75$.

    What happens in spring?

    Let's idle dedicated servers?

The question is: how many hours per month are you using this much computing power?

If the average CPU utilization over a month is 6% over 4 cores of PKVM-8G, you can process the same workload using 1 core of SKVM-1G at 24% CPU utilization.

    underutilizing is idling

Internationalized software typically has language files attached. There could be language files for English and for Chinese.
Then, each item in the user interface is identified by a keyword, and the view layer would lookup the language file and render the translated word.

If your browser sends Accept-Language: zh-cn, en-us, * in HTTP request header, the server software would use words from the Chinese language file first. If some words are not translated to Chinese, the server returns English since it's your second preference.

I already have dozen of idle VPSs. So I don't mind another one.
Damn, if I could grab one,I would bequeath it to my grandson...

In spring, there's probably still sunlight, but not so windy. So you depend on a combination of solar and wind power. Worst case scenario, underclock all processors in spring.

Not in this case, my browser is English.
