Considering what it is, and that OVH is out of the game as of now i can understand why anyone would want to buy it. Once OVH gets their stuff together there is no reason to use this PoS-provider.

Considering that OVH all through the year has been advertising their stuff to French, and then EU customers only, excluding the majority of the population, it's quite an economical solution. I dont understand what you mean by "PoS-provider".

    @earl said:
Ah yes I think it was you..nice of them to change it thought.

160 GB used to be the disk space available to non-French customers. But they changed it to 500 GB when they started international marketing. I can only assume that Erawan got the old system by mistake, and they changed it back when informed.

The provider is shit, support is non-existant and incompetent (Sébastién? anyone?) the bandwidth is buttraped for 12 hours a day. You get what you pay for.

  • For the support, Nicolas helped me, and friendly enough. While some of my friends also did not helped by the support.

Most of them, because my friend asking the support in a rude way, not threatening a human as a human, but rather as a something to command, like a robot.

There's nothing to debate though, it's just someone got signed to a better support guy and the others didn't have that luck. Personally I'm fine with decent hardwares at this low price coming with bad support. Yeah you get what you pay for.

Got my second tiny one (This time Gen2) - But there seems to be a problem with the harddrive. Cannot install any OS, support only did reply once on that ticket... it's now 24hours and still no answer and harddrive still not changed or fixed. I know its only 9,99 but c'mon is it so difficult to change the harddrive or the whole server?

i had the same problem.. Ticketted them, and it was done in 8 minutes.. then ticketed them about RAID on one of my other servers and that was done in 15 mins..

there are times which it takes 3 days to get something done.. times where it is straight away.. just keep replying because come Friday 5pm.. No replies until monday

Their support is always not fast

  • @blergh_ I thought you loved teh buttrape ;)

@ErawanArifNugroho I was given an old server too, Nicolas just replaced the server for me.

@AutoSnipe Even on weekends the support responses are quick for me (10-30mins always).

  • I'm glad you get the replacement too :)

How old are drives they put in those of €10 ?

Depends on your luck, not that it matters. Whatever people are using these for a its probably not production as you'd get better value out of most vps offers here.

I have the 500gb drive.. supposedly it's 9 days old! unless I'm reading it wrong.

    smartctl -a /dev/sda | grep Power 9 Power_On_Hours 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 219

I've got the server on the 6th November, so the HDD is brand new.

No, you can find guaranteed bandwidth in the offer page

Internet bandwidth guaranteed Premium 150 Mbit/s

What do you think (with the common sense for a 9.99 Euro per month box)?

  • how does their billing work?? why they charged me only 7EUR? and only for 2 weeks?
    it should be 9.99EUR/month..

It's prorated.. so billing starts at the 1'st of every month, I think this was mentioned already..

So it's a no go on the server p0rn? :(
