Oracle Cloud Free Tier

  • Hi everyone,

    I’m currently having trouble creating my first Oracle Cloud Free Tier account and wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar experience recently.

    My card verification succeeds every time and I can see the Oracle authorization/charge on my bank card, but after that the final account creation step always fails with:

    “Sorry, an error occurred while creating your account. We were unable to complete your registration.”

    Oracle lists the usual possible reasons such as inaccurate information, obscured location/identity, or multiple accounts, but this is my first Oracle Cloud Free Tier account and the personal/billing information I entered is genuine.

    I have already contacted Oracle Customer Service and received an incident number. The case is currently in their queue for review.

    Has anyone here had this exact situation recently — successful card authorization, but failure at the final account creation step — and then managed to get the account approved after contacting support?

    If support fixes the profile/signup issue and asks me to register again, I’m also considering upgrading to PAYG afterward. I’d be interested to know whether anyone who needed manual signup review later had any additional problems upgrading to PAYG.

    Thanks.

    idk, been trying to get one since April 2024. I keep asking around for fun, but somehow never managed to land one.

    What you mean asking around? you simply sign-up? lol

    If you need credit card, look into crypto 'pre-paid' lot of these services use business credit-cards from asia that work fine.

    You have clearly flagged security.

    To ensure best chance, use mobile with 4/5g, browser with history, and use complete details, i've not had any problems.

    Oracle is not the type of provider you want to lie to, or hide your identity. It's just not worth it regardless pay the $10/month somewhere else for your privacy.

    I meant every time I create a VM, there are no resources available.

    Hmmm, well of course not sure what region you tried? but for example NL has stock right this second...

    Can't expect to get the exotic regions, without lot of effort

    Same here, and I was able to grabbed one last week using auto script from:

    Can you be a little more specific? I tried something like that before and it didnt work.

  • @Fubuki @LEBUserJoe Thanks both.

    Yes, I’m using a real bank-issued card, not a VCC, and all of the personal/billing information is genuine. This is also my first OCI account.

    The card authorization succeeds every time, so the failure happens only after payment verification, at the final account creation step.

    I agree that I’ve probably triggered Oracle’s security/risk system somehow, although I’m not sure which signal caused it. I’m not trying to hide my identity or provide false information.

    At this point I’ve stopped retrying and opened a case with Oracle Customer Service instead. I’m hoping they can manually review or reset whatever flag/profile state is blocking the signup.

    Has anyone here actually had Oracle support clear this kind of signup flag and then successfully register afterward?

    I found it
    just setup your own image,shape,etc... and click Next till you see the Create button, then open Console and run this script, it will auto choose domain sequently and try click Create btt every 30 sec
    *important: you must click anywhere on frame which contains Create button, otherwise you will see error "Failed to find Availability domain label on the page"

    const adLabel = document.querySelectorAll('label').values().find(elem => elem.innerText == 'Availability domain');
    if (!adLabel) {
        const msg = 'Failed to find "Availability domain" label on the page. Either your language is not set to English, you aren\'t on https://cloud.oracle.com/compute/instances/create, or this script is outdated.';
        alert(msg);
        throw msg;
    }

    let ads = [];
    let lastParent = adLabel;
    while (ads.length == 0) {
        lastParent = lastParent.parentElement;
        if (!lastParent) {
            break;
        }

        ads = [...lastParent.querySelectorAll('input')];
    }
    if (ads.length == 0) {
        const msg = 'Failed to any labels on the page. This script is likely outdated.';
        alert(msg);
        throw msg;
    }

    const result = confirm(`Found ${ads.length} availability domains: ${ads.map(elem => elem.value.replace('LCyd:', '')).join(', ')}. Does this look correct?`);
    if (!result) {
        throw 'Incorrect available domains detected. This script likely needs to be updated.'
    }

    let adIndex = 0; // Start with the first AD
    function attemptCreate() {
        const adName = ads[adIndex].value.replace('LCyd:', '');
        // Select the next AD
        ads[adIndex].click();
        console.log('Switched to ' + adName);

        // Attempt to find and click the Create button
        let createButton = [...document.querySelectorAll('button[type="button"]')].find(elem => elem.innerText == 'Create');
        if (createButton) {
            createButton.click();
            console.log('Clicked Create on AD ' + adName);
        } else {
            console.log('No Create button found on AD ' + adName);
        }

        // Move to the next AD, loop back to the first AD after the last one
        adIndex = (adIndex + 1) % ads.length;
    }

    const createInterval = setInterval(attemptCreate, 30000); // Run every 30 seconds
    attemptCreate(); // Initial attempt immediately

    *Edit: To stop the script, run clearInterval(createInterval) in the console.

    Question,

    Weird part is with my wife's account, is she only has half resources available e.g 1 core, 6GB ram you got any idea why?

    But unlike Parsifal I can deploy without problem, no wait instant provisioning in the same region he can't?
