    For backup I think there is another option of Hetzner server bidding, just some more bucks to get 2x3TB HDD :-)

    Ya! this one comes with HW RAID though, and a bit cheaper, but both are perfect for backups!

    see above, someone did that already! ;-) Something around 150 MB/s for the SATA drives in RAID1.
