good to hear, lowend.co have not refund me, i got my money back via charge back

He instructed that users had to open a dispute, as he did not have the refund option [ if you followed the thread at all, or opened the ticket as you were supposed to, etc. ]

Either way, that's unrelated to the current drama at hand.

My dedicated server with GVH is down!

No reason it should be down. It's probably related to just your server. If you have any identifying info (hostname and IP), I can look into it for you. I am not affiliated with GVH and nor do I work for them, just looking to help out Jon and alleviate some stress. I simply can help you out in this situation.

wojons - right now, I think he is overwhelmed with it all. He can't fire fight the actual problem ie dead WHMCS/SolusVM if he is monitoring here

i know i totally agree but your one of the hosts that have more then enough space to offer a refuge plain.

  • @wojons said:

No, actually wanting to help customers here on LowEndTalk is enough to get you hunted down as a witch. It even happened very recently when a member of the top 5 offered a refugee offer through agreement with the owner....

  • @wojons - we could do that in a drop of a hat, but right now lets give him the opportunity to resolve the issue.

That's why giving root access to anything yours to a stranger its always a bad idea

And there goes my vps with him :/

  • @netomx , did your VPS go offline?

Sometimes the LET community tends to turn into a really negative atmosphere, I wonder if that comes with the Lowend factor.

  • Nothing to do with the price point, a lot of people have the mentality of pushing people down the ladder to boost their own ego. Simple as that IMO.

I see my sites are still online with this host so I'll just assume this is 13 pages of pot stirring.

its a load of shit for you two guys to even remotely blame anything that happened here today on 'us' "stirring the pot".

what happened was simply a quest for truth in the face of a wall of lies.

how is our desire for truth and transparency a 'negative' ?

  • I'm not blaming anyone for anything, but I imagine 99.9% of this thread is a colossal waste of time.

  • Both GVH's WHMCS and SolusVM have been compromised. We cannot say whether any data has been breached at this time, but given that the server has been compromised, I strongly recommend you assume that there is a high risk of data breach and you should reset passwords on other sites where you have reused the same passwordl

We are working at the moment to restore both of them, we will update again in 1 hour.

Why have the police not taken you to a mental health ward?

I can't seem to comprehend the American health system...

  • Jon loves all this attention you guys are giving him. The suicide joke is hilarious -- this man needs some serious help --- All he needs is attention.

I wasn't being specific at all, I've been replying to goodhosting's last comment and was talking about LET in general from my perspective. I'm not sure why you get all defensive, I couldn't care less about what happend in this thread, I'll rather stay neutral and watch the outcome instead of possibly adding more fuel on a already burning fire.

I do agree with you. Don't feed him, you guys are too good and have a good hearth, he didn't even care with the fact that you called the police to help him.

  • MrGeneral said: called the police to help him.

Someone did this? Do they know his home address -- anything come of it?

Thanks for the update, but I think this guy needs to go -- banned, and have his internet unplugged for a while. #IMHO

Five different people claimed they called the police, and each person also claims that the person said that someone else had already called in. Who knows if anyone actually did call, or if all five did; etc.

  • Police did go round to see him, he is fine and just working through the problems methodically now

Trust me, it's screwed up. The private companies operate it.

I did, and the dispatcher herself said she had someone else on the line as we spoke so I would assume at least two people called. Why would anyone lie about something like this?

His address is listed in his public WHOIS information that was linked/pasted a few pages back. That was the address I gave the police, at least.

I though the police came and talked to him. He probably told them it was all just a marketing ploy.

MrGeneral said: he didn't even care with the fact that you called the police to help him.

Or say thank you that anyone cared. Of course, that would involve focusing on someone other than himself for a split second, which he is incapable of.

Considering the signal to noise ratio on LowEndTalk in the last month specifically [LowEND, viCommunications, Tactical, Acclaim, GVH, etc.], it's hard to trust anything going on around here anymore. Fair enough if you did call. I'm not going to sit here and take the bait though, we don't even know for sure that anything was actually compromised yet.

I don't care if he doesn't care. I'll call the police as many times as necessary until he either learns to knock it off or gets some help.

You answered your own question earlier in this thread:

    @Gunter said:
if police deem that they are indeed a suicide risk

Making a comment online does not automatically mean someone's a genuine suicide risk.

  • @GoodHosting said:

I'm sure he can pay for that with his five or six figure paycheck.
