@liam said: What did you do?

No i blame rus partially. As in People say it was his constant use of same passwords. I also signup to this theory

  • @liam said: So the indian guy committed suicide because of Rus use of the same password or?

No. I blame rus for using the same passwords. And the guy Committed suicide becuz he lost a huge contract. And i dont think his password was weak in the sense. it was reusing it again and again..

  • @liam said: Although someone said K.T was quite well of in the real world?

Yeh. but this contract was huge i believe, and it would be a huge loss. For someone that was quite a large customer and for your software to be blamed on something like that and thousands of sites deleted..

  • I enjoy watching other providers offer 6mb/s disk copy rates :P

Mine Xen-HVM plan isn't that bad, dd is about 100MB/s but I couldn't get network to work with their gateway settings :(

    Next marketing ploy: Materia Storage

  • @Aldryic said: Materia Storage

That has a very smooth flow and nice sound to it, congrats on word creation.

Maybe you can license it to vps.net for their new storage platform http://onapp.com/storage/

  • So wait?

They put their HDDs on balloons which are now floating in the clouds? Stupid foster, he must realise that their going to break up there!

  • So far, there's only one name that I can think of that will actually have 'cloud' servers :3

One question answers the buyvm vs. Foster-led companies in my mind:

Does buyvm use "d1as" or "aldry1c" or "anth0ny" as server passwords? :-)

    Thanked by 1Aldryic

    long live Private Bay! :D

  • I did set a temporary password of mydickburnsforyou for a particularly obnoxious client once <_<

  • @liam said: Nah p0ny

    Proceeding to change passwords

@liam just for Clarity Inception Hosting are not selling OpenVZ from XEN I think he was just making a play on the name.

  • they techieVPS said "I can also confirm that your VPS is not run inside of Xen box. Our control panel, SolusVM, though is running on a Xen instance, hence you may see xen on your VPS, though it's clearly OpenVZ."

    you think what?

  • @yywudi One word: bullshit

  • laaevlaaev Member

He's going to destroy UK2's reputation by doing this.

Don't know why UK2 bothers to keep him... this will harm UK2Group more than it will do good.

    I think the guys hilarious.

He went out of his way to write this big blog post taking stabs at 'my little pony' and the true definition of 'unmanaged' and then goes and tries to copy us :)

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

The sad part is the pony thing is just a really silly company joke between a few of us and some companies are just sooooo butthurt over it.

    Why is TechieVPS's WHMCS install /whmcs-2 ? http://techievps.com/whmcs-2/

He is too lazy to rename to /clients or something a bit more professional ?

A bit irritating how everyone keeps assuming it's in reference to my little pony, though <_<

Apart from the giveaway in the kernel, why does this file exist and say what it does on my OpenVZ VPS?

    cat /proc/xen/balloon

    Current allocation: 1540096 kB
    Requested target: 1540096 kB
    Low-mem balloon: 23109632 kB
    High-mem balloon: 0 kB
    Driver pages: 0 kB
    Xen hard limit: ??? kB

This says that the underlying Xen kernel, yanno, shared by all the OVZ instances, is running on 1.5 GB of RAM. What physical node these days has only 1.5 GB of RAM?

    Thanked by 1cedric

So he basically has a VPS.net instance and installed Solus+OVZ on that.
