cPanel: Price increase 2027
Here we go again. Take a look at the email I just received:
Title: I'm sorry, it's happening again: price increase 2027
I wanted to reach out personally before the official communication lands in your inbox: unfortunately, it's happening again.
WebPros will be adjusting prices in 2027.
I know this is never welcome news, and I'm sorry. What is different this time is that WebPros have also put measures in place to make the impact on your business lighter, including a Partner Incentive Program designed to give value back to you and help you grow.
I'd rather walk you through the details than summarize them in an email.
Would you be open to a short call? I can explain what is changing and answer any questions you may have.
Could you let me know your availability over the next few days?
The official communication will follow shortly, so you will also have everything in writing.
Thank you for your partnership, and again, I'm sorry for the news.

Is it me or they just keep rising price every 1-2 year ?
LOL LMAO
It is yearly event. Rejoice.
Anyone still using cPanel is a sucker for punishment
Just means more room for more AI panels
Their price hikes are as punctual as a clock.
I was messing around with a cPanel-style skin for HestiaCP last year. With AI coding tools being this good now, it should be a lot easier to finish. Maybe it’s time to work on it and actually release it
Do it and enjoy
I'm so sorry
Just vibe code the damn panel.
Who sent that email? That email reads like "I'm fucked lol"
Any hosting provider here can tell me if they have migrated clients from cpanel to Directadmin and what's the feedback,
I am not going to pay to cpanel just for ui when it literally cant do anything special on its own,
Need to install 20 different softwares after paying more money than server itself
We didn't force the move on anyone but we've had a lot of users do so, especially budget resellers. When the first price hike happened we had budget reseller users blowing up our tickets like the bank had their trucks parked outside ready to repo their house. Very stressful for everyone.
In the early days (basically right after the first hike) DA was lacking quite a bit (jetbackups being the biggest one people experienced). Since then DA 3rd party support is at parity with cPanel. User experience is pretty similar. Administration side is still a bit rough with it feeling brittle.
cPanel has their new vibeslop UI in the works and with rumors that they don't intend to support 3rd party plugins in it, it'd probably be a whole lot easier for hosts to push/entice users to swap to DA/inhouse.
I mean, its not difficult. The biggest issue ~every "cPanel Alternative" has at the moment is they all bolt on a ton of extra shit that is out of spec. If they did a ~1:1 on the important functionality with a safe framework they wouldn't be getting exploited all the time, or criticized.
Every single alt panel has customer facing docker container support for some reason, VPS management, and a bunch of other things. Then, they try to charge cPanel pricing for it.
