@rpqu said: Sorry. I still insist on, as the mRNA to cDNA pathway is known and it assumed a proper subset can't do what other proper subset had.

It's only possible in certain circumstances, and it's proven to not happen with either COVID19 itself nor the mRNA vaccine. Insistence does not overturn established discoveries.

    I beg your pardon

It's not loading for me. What's the DOI? I can check on Sci-Hub.

    Here §4.1 (iii)

You realize the LINE-1-based reverse transcription they were citing as a possible vector for integration is exactly what your previous link tested at a later date and found no evidence of? This is precisely why science literacy is so important.

    Sir, you assert this

it's proven to not happen with either COVID19 itself

    §3.8¶1

    Oh well [1] [2] [3]

Checked the first one. It isn't considered a very reliable paper, e.g.: https://biology.stackexchange.com/a/107427/39025

That discredited paper (published in the predatory journal MDPI, by the way):

    • Fails to apply Bonferroni correction on their statistical results (which, when applied, invalidates them)
    • Doesn't actually use liver cells but a highly-mutated, karyotypically-abnormal immortalized tumor-derived cell line
    • Uses an abnormal and hyperactive variant of LINE-1 not found in normal human cells
    • Fails to use controls in a number of important places, and uses controls incorrectly in others

Didn't read the others since I suspect it'll all be the same, and since we should probably not continue this discussion in this particular thread, I'll end it now and repeat what I said before: This is why we need science literacy.

I'd be happy to continue in The Cest Pit though.

Btw regarding [2], that was published on IJIRMS, which is on Beall's list of fraudulent and predatory journals!

@forest maybe I missed, how did you get an invite code for rise up? I was searching for one for quite some time (I guess a screenshot someone posted related to invite codes explains it), but after a while I gave up.

Only people with an account can create invite codes, and apparently no new invite codes can be created. But someone here had already created a code but not used it and offered it to me. So I just got lucky.

some are still allowed to create invites.

Is this actually true though? I know the message on their dash says so but neither of my 2 accounts are allowed to.

    ya i tested

Again, where do we draw the line? Is attacking critical infrastructure like power grids, cutting off residential houses and hospitals from power and heat during winter, bad enough?

You have no issues with people doing damage to railways, cars, buildings, etc. but I wonder where do you think they should stop at?

We do shut down criminal org services (Sky, Anom) and the sale of the devices is banned.
Banning it opportunistic BEFORE any crime violates constitution in most if not all of EU.

@forest said: Their difference is what they disallow, not what they allow. But referring to even the most radical environmentalist hosting a blog as a "terrorist cell" is extreme hyperbole.

A terorist org having a site makes them less of an issue? Why isn't it legal to host ISIS websites then.

ISIS is a UN designated terror organisation; Antifa is not. Same as US sanctions with no UN listing = not a terror group in international matters.

A German (jurisdiction by content), Italian (jurisdiction by host and physical server), or EU court (EU holds iurisdiction above members) has to find that the blogs you list violate terrorism, hate speech or other laws and shut them down (and change the law if any) if needed with an EU cooperation order, this takes months.

I dont like the Left people much but this is just using the basic legal process to your advantage and anyone would be stupid not to (same as not cooperating with LE).

Even then, ISIS could legally host a blog if they didn't host any illegal terrorist content on it.

Kind of, if not a paid service UN sanctions get into murky territory as it can be still construed as "ideological support" but this is REALLY selectively enforced and you have to piss of someone (Qatar hosts aHezbollah press office since like 40 years, Iran owns Hamas, the US supplies various designated terrorist groups weapons etc.). Even i dont deal with UN listed people, the list is so short and "extremist" only that whoever you talk to is likely monitored and not worth the pain.

    @forest said: They don't read user's emails.

    are you sure?

Considering they use encryption based on your user password, they would have to blatantly lie about their setup in order to read mail. It's not client-side encryption (the key is kept in server memory while you are logged on, otherwise incoming mail is only encrypted using a per-account public key) so it is theoretically possible and so I can't say for sure, but they've had some of their servers seized before and nothing useful was able to be pulled from it. So I think it's very likely that they don't.

Either way, one should never trust claims blindly. That's why GnuPG is so important for email.

No. Anti-vaxxers do not respond to logic and reason. Stopping the spread of outright harmful misinformation is higher priority. Preventing outbreaks because nobody told the fucking idiots otherwise.

It starts with solid education when they're kids if you want science and logic to prevail.

It’s important not to confuse opponents of vaccination with those who protested against COVID‑19 vaccination. In Soviet times, I received all the recommended vaccines against measles, smallpox, polio, etc. Free of charge, of course. And I wasn’t autistic or anything like that. But I refused the COVID‑19 vaccine for perfectly reasonable reasons. First and foremost, because conducting vaccination during an epidemic is scientifically useless and even harmful.

another fascinating thing during the covid era was that those who normally want to abolish or overthrow the state suddenly parroted the lies coming from the state - and these were predominantly (so-called) “leftists” in this case (in my opinion, pseudo-leftists), and certainly not real socialists!

Let's migrate the vaccine talk to The Cest Pit. :)

i would argue against removing anything here and, for documentary purposes, leaving the (hypocritical) statements made by the so - called leftists in the context of the covid-19 pandemic as they are.

I did say migrate, not remove nor censor.
