so is this a good service or no? everyone seems to be complaining xd

I think basing the quality of a low-cost hosting service on the number of people complaining in a post is pretty pointless, because you would never have seen the same people complaining until two weeks ago when everything was normal before the attacks, that's the truth, but unfortunately that's how it works: when things are going well everyone stays quiet, but at the first problem of this type everyone turns “against” you.

We've certainly had a lot of problems, but at least we try to solve them to give you all a decent quality service at an extremely low cost.

Will there be better solutions than us at the same price? Sure, but we try to maintain this standard for those who perhaps can't afford to spend a lot on test machines or to learn, Isn't that enough? Surely this is also something we are investing in to raise our level.

Today's attack was resolved quickly, we just need to loosen the filters to allow more traffic to pass, and we're still working on it now, let's not pretend nothing happened of course

As a customer, I shouldn't have to suffer because of this especially when I'm paying for the service. You could have simply raised the price in the billing system. The server hasn't been working correctly for a month now. Tech support silently closes tickets without resolving the issues. If you aren't capable of maintaining your equipment and just point to the low price as an excuse, why sell the services in the first place?

Regarding ticket #OGE-791920: I bought a STORAGE-2 unit, but it broke down before I’d even used it for a full day. I waited over a day for delivery, only for it to fail in less than 24 hours—it’s absolutely ridiculous.

    It has been resolved.

jesus fkn christ @DeluxHost now OUTBOUND port 443 on ipv4 is blocked, unless the attack is coming from WITHIN your network this is just stupid at this point

you talk about compensation but who compensates the week of my personal time I lost chasing ghost just because you won't update the status page with what random shit you blocked this time?

you know, I use this kind of deal to evaluate infrastructure providers, I kinda had some hopes with you, I had good experiences in the past with Italian providers, but after two threads with you announcing at least 5 times that "everything is fine" while having such a circus with the filters, I can't consider you reliable for ANY workload...

and I get it, you are not DDoSing yourself (I hope, anyway, givent the current filters), but I also know an attack of the size you reported extended for a whole month is not cheap, and not something anyone would do at random...

well waited for a fix from 1 month, atleast desever some free bonus

  • Servers from this provider is only for dev and test or hobby work that only requires non critical access to a remote server. So if you have anything critical or websites that needs to be online, as mentioned in their offers.

a hobby workload requires you to have fun, I cannot recommend this provider for hobby either... also they have non-promotional offerings that I imply, given the wording on their site, are fit for business workloads, which I also imply are affected by this attack

OK, this fable hits again. As mentioned in their offers? Not when I joined - just checked it. Only mentions "All plans include: High Stability & Performance". A few offers before they were even mentioning reseller accounts - who wants to have a reseller account when it's only for dev and test or hobby work?

Also, I'd say a dev machine shouldn't be unavailable/unreachable for weeks; just as with every service you have to be able to use it whenever you need it.

But again: they've been lowering expectations gradually over the last months, while in February they've increased prices to "maintain the level" - it's only went downwards from there.

Tons of people have complained since you started your business lol.
First year i tried you guys it was absolute hell and only towards the end of it i realized it was because of hardware errors on your end and only got better when moved to a new node. That being said, the node i got moved to had very little issues and was perfectly great for the price but before the move it was incredibly bad.

Since placing the order yesterday, outbound port 443 is blocked. The network cut out completely 10 minutes ago; ping and ssh connection are gone.

    Aaaaaand its down again.... :|

  • I have 4 servers with them, two of which I am not renewing due to the frequent downtime. I am just running two servers now one for VPN and the other one is Ryzen and was not hitting the downtime, so seems to be a better one for now.

  • HayzeeHayzee Member

idk if F and Q plans are affected, but Z and X plans are affected. The M plan seems to be a bit hiccupy but mostly fine (It was somewhat fine last outage too, which is interesting)

  • all vms i got are offline since over an hour
i see a lot of latency issues and connction problem over the last 14 days

  • Are any servers working for anyone ?

No. My monitoring shows offline for 1hrs and 35min.

What would be really helpful for this provider would be a monitoring or a status page, where customers see whether there is an outage and for how long.

Yes, I know this URL and also subscribed it by e-mail, bit it is useless. This page seems more like a marketing-status für new customers showing 100% uptime, not the real status of the network, the VPS or the DCs.
I mean, have a look at it after the two weeks of downtime now showing 99.9% uptime is clearly fake.

I wish there would be an additional status for customers showing the real situation -- that would be quite helpful.

The status page is a big scam, but it looks good from a marketing perspective ;)

Most people who have been there when the DDOS attacks were ongoing, don't trust DH anymore with their status page. According to their status page nothing was wrong and everything seemed perfectly fine. However, every single VM was offline due to those attacks.

Best is just to use your own monitoring tools.

    IPv4 (1min checks - updates automaticly)

    IPv6 (1min checks - updates automaticly)

Maybe we could have a community DH Kuma status page :joy:

I guess the attacker came to the conclusion they don't need to attack if DH is already killing it's own traffic with the firewall rules

  • @Hayzee said:

I am not so sure about that. During the carpet bombing attack I noticed about 20Mbps incoming traffic in the control panel of the VPS (while server offline).

Right now, my VPS is down/offline and I can see again about 5Mbps of traffic arriving at the same time at my VPS at the DH's control panel.

How often do the badges update? (For some reason, it says my X plan was down for 5 hours earlier. I was at out, so I can't fully confirm, so take the uptime % with a grain of salt)

    Z plan -
    X Plan -
    M Plan -

    Also nice page @Gerrit
