    Don't know in what country you are, but here in The Netherlands rules are that data, when asked to be removed after being made aware of a company takeover that you are not a customer, must have been removed at max 30 days after the moment that they came in the posession of the data. So there is still a number of hours left to be compliant to that.

    However, if there are a large number of people requesting it 5 minutes before that deadline, they'll have a hell of a job to be compliant in time... (Does that sound as a hint? wink wink)

    So, after reaching out on discord and a few back and forths with Eric, he finally deleted my data. What a shame it didn't go like this on the first try. Dunno why everything has to be escalated.

    FWIW you shouldn't have to give them any more information than they might already hold about you. Even on that form, it states it's optional to include it.

    If he refuses to do it because you don't include photo ID, that's another violation.

    Also, I don't think they can refuse the request received in any form. All this form is doing anyway is sending an e-mail to the address you type in at the top.

    If you have sent a ticket from the control panel, they already have everything they need to identify you anyway.

    Exactly... He's overly obsessed about the ICO cos you pointed that out earlier on but its just one of the many.

    What he hasn't realised yet is that the only reasons I asked to see his ICO registration is because:

    a) It's a legal requirement to be registered if you handle UK citizen's data
    b) Getting the registration means he has to make a legally binding statement that he has fully understood the requirements of the law and will act accordingly
    c) The name and contact details for the DPO are publicly available

    It doesn't matter... You can address it to anyone within the company, preferably the DPO. Looks like he got my request. He did sign with system management this time though.

    Good thing he mailed me an hour's before stating he is the DPO :smile:

    That's handy. Because when he edited the privacy policy to remove Lewis, he's made it non-compliant as it no longer states who the DPO is, it just gives an e-mail address. Naughty naughty.

    Does it have "LET" in the name of the plan?

    As for IPv6, I find that often it's something you can solve locally, even if there's a misconfiguration on the host (e.g. DAD errors).

    They have 30 days to action and reply to your SAR request or deletion request.

    AFAIK: Unless they have been acting without legal consent or need to have the data - then the 30 days starting at the moment they got the data.

    That makes a difference in this case because they've operated for almost 30 days without.

    Yeah, good point. Sorry, was thinking about an actual deletion request where they already had a legitimate reason to hold the data.

    Without ever having had your consent to have the data at all, it has to be deleted within 30 days of them receiving it.
