Not same DC or city, why don't you exert more STFU and less blanket statements
I was basing my statement on some test I saw. I would have expected the lynch-mob to present 100+ speedtests that show 100 Mbps+ from BuyVM. So far only some pings that dont tell the entire BW story. I can post some pings too (damn, some ppl like long hostnames...):

Does this tell the BW story ?
If you can max out the BW in US, canada, wherever, but not in Europe, then, again, this is not max out, you should be able to use ALL BW without running continuously at max all over the world.
M
All that means is the connectivity to Europe for that route is saturated, BuyVM has no control over that, so why do you want to bring irrelevant things into the debate? It does nothing for your case.
Til you begin to show understanding of how the internet works and is routed, your debate is on deaf ears.
I know is on deaf ears with you, however, I just did a speedtest and, while I am further away and passing through frankfurt, I can still get 7-8 Mbps on the west coast, even tho the line is far from free at this hour. Saying western EU-US is so saturated that limits BW so much is the proof you dont "talk" often to EU and you dont know how things go over here. Europe is far from being a backward continent compared to "Information Highway" in NA and links are far from being satellite only these days.
M
And will remain so, BuyVM has stock for sale for members of this forum only today, so STFU and put your money where your mouth is, test their offer for yourself or please, just STFU and go away.
This has got to be the weirdest topic I've read so far on leb.
I wouldnt because they took their word back and dont allow even non-exit nodes, so the BW problems are worse than I thought and cant be hidden anymore. There are some ppl here already suffering and they dont run Tor to be called child molesters or porn addicts, thieves, whatever, tell them to STFU up too.
After all, BuyVM doesnt have stock because they are so popular, dont need to sell it here, and wont need a few disgruntled tin-foil hat customers. US and China are their markets, not EU where ppl are used with better speeds.
M
P.S.
There were others even more weird.
P.S. 2 I still dont see the thousands of happy customers putting up some speedtests. Maybe it is time to call Vedran again since the lynch-mob isnt doing it's duty well enough ?
https://my.frantech.ca/aup.php#5.2
That's funny, I don't see "not allowed" anywhere in that block. So how about you just stop with the lies?
I wanted to run a non-exit node that wouldnt generate any annoyances to test BW. Of course that would have failed so the BS about being unable to determine if it is an exit or not node struck again even tho I gave many places where to check that, including automatically from any IP. There is no other explanation why you insist on that, except that you know the BW test will fail.
I also deducted from the original thread announcing the changes that non-exit nodes will be allowed without the extra charge since someone said will put a private node and you said no problem. I thought that means non-exit node, sorry for the confusion.
Now I already know from others what kind of BW BuyVM has (and I suspected that all along), so there is no need to try it and lose time to setup bw hogging apps to see if I can use what is "guaranteed" or not.
I do not need anything else than BW and there are many hosts that offer lots of BW and lower prices I already tested.
M
Maounique BuyVM even changed their AUP for you, now will you just shut up please?
Don't waste your breath @gsrdgrdghd - he's already proven he has zero experience with our services, and trying to make claims with no proof makes him nothing more than a base liar. It's his own reputation (hah), let him ruin it all he wishes.
By this point it's very obvious that he simply has a grudge against us for some reason (maybe he was rejected service in the past due to us not tolerating his brand of bullshit, who knows). Remember the old TOR threads? He swore up and down that everyone banned TOR because of "government fear" and abiding by big brother. Well, now that we're allowing TOR, he had to make up some other excuse to try and spread his lies.
I thought so, also, unfortunatelly, that was just a promo stunt, there is no practical way to use the BW at thos speeds and Tor only needs BW, so they are NOT suitable for BW hungry apps.
Ppl asked to run private nodes and after being aproved then that changed under the pretext that cant be reliably checked even tho everyone knows it is not so.
To buy 5 IPs for 2-3 TB and not use any other resources than BW, is too much, especially when you cant test that aforehand and it is highly unlikely you will be able to use even that bw.
I am happy they do an offer for LEB, but they are not suitable for my needs because of the BW constraints.
As I said countless times, how they buy BW, in what quantities, what services they allow or dont allow, is entirely their business.
I only pointed out I was right when I suspected they used libel against us because they have little BW available and would have a problem hosting Tor nodes.
q.e.d. That is this thread about, speed, no red herrings pls. Attcking me once again will not speed your VPS, unless they give you some special treatment for that and while I believe Aldryic could think of something like that, the others wont agree.
M
No, we're not suitable for your needs because I would not allow you service with us to begin with.
No, you straight up lied with NO PROOF. Just because you live in a fantasy world doesn't mean we all do.
So, honesty time. Want to know one of the biggest reasons that Anthony and I are so against TOR? Because it means having to put up with people like you, and frankly we'd rather spend our time with clients that won't waste our time on this asinine train of lies you call 'proof'.
here you go:
BuyVM $15 Open VZ I'm in California about 100 miles north of them.
The image says 1300 miles because they are registered in Vancouver, but the servers are in San Jose. When you do the test you must manually select a San Jose server, if you let speedtest select a server it picks one in Vancouver or Washington State and results will be much lower.
Allotted Bandwidth != Transfer Rates. We're on a 2gbit line, each VM having a 100mbit port with fair share usage (meaning unless you constantly abuse, we don't cap). I'm starting to question whether you actually run TOR at all, let alone administrate servers given your blatant lack of understanding.
I only ever deleted one post from you (or it was 2 in the same thread, I don't remember anymore), get over it already.
Btw, here's a speedtest from me:
And again you two managed to spoil a perfectly good thread
Apologies @vedran. I have no problems ignoring the fantasyland government conspiracy theories, but I do represent BuyVM here, and I'm not fond of having to step into a thread because someone decides to tell lies about us. Sorry for the derailment.
EDIT: Also, that's freakin horrible results for within the US. Would you mind PMing me a traceroute?
Guys, just stop talking to him, all he wants to do is make unsubstantiated claims.
What a dumbass
Sure. If transfer rate is below what would use the allotted bw for CONTINUOUS full usage (probably what you think is abuse) then some BW will remain unused. So, offer 500 GB, if the customer would only be able to use 320 if he uses max he can (probably abuse in your words), then there is no way he will use 500 GB, you win !
You are on 2 gb line, this means you can, at full usage, pull/push some 650.000 GB a month.
You said you have 1800 chinese only customers, probably many times more overall and if we consider those all are on 500 GB plan, then they can at max use 360 GB or so.
If someone uses Tor and maxes out on BW, then the other customers will get even less.
This is considering they are all on the lowest plan regarding BW and you have ONLY those 1800 chinese customers.
Overselling works as long as ppl dont use what they buy and this is true. If ppl would use Tor, tho, that wouldnt work, regardless if it is exit node or not. However, you oversell much more than others, and even without allowing Tor, things still are slowing down for your customers. If they are unable to use all allotted BW even if they would push/pull 24/7 in which case you shut them down for abuse, then things are indeed dire, and this thread put up all the reasons why. There was no need to use libel against us, truth came up EXACTLY because of that, in this situation. If you were remaining silent on the Tor thread, we wouldnt have been here. This wouldnt have changed those speedtests anyway.
I rest my case.
M
P.S.
@Vedran so you think that is a good result... You will not be able to use all 500 GB even if you use the connection 24/7, it only proves they lack BW, and this is what I said all along.
More lies. The bandwidth on our plans is guaranteed, period, and nothing you can say will change this simple truth. Rest your case all you wish, it was dead when you first started talking.
@Maounique don't you mean 650TB? 650GB/month would be 200Mbps, not 2Gbps.
Apologies, I keep forgetting you ppl use comma, so it was 650,000 GB, you are right, it was simpler to just put 650 TB...
M
@Aldryic All three of these tests were done with the same test server.
BuyVM SSH tunnel:
Kiloserve SSH tunnel:
Without SSH tunnel:
Keep them coming. the truth is out, there is nothing he can do about it anymore.
Blame the saturation in EU all the way, talk gibberish about alotted bw and guaranteed BW, tell I dont know anything even tho I guessed the real reasons behind slime throwing even without having a direct experience, it wont work, it is not Tor, it is the greed.
M
Prometeus VPN

Tested it on a 20mb down 1mb up connection (my upload sux...)
@Maounique where did I say I think it's good or bad, or anything?
Well, you did intervene in his favour before, so I thought you put that up to show he is right and they do allow all bw to be used.
I am sorry for that. You are right here.
M
Then it sounds like there's a routing issue. Mind PMing me the IP of that VM so I can have a look? (and why haven't you ticketed us about that already, anyways <_<)
@Aldryic I haven't sent a ticket yet because I just realized it was as bad as it is.
Erm, if you have only 1 mb up, that cant be right.
