I don't expect much quality when it is that cheap! 50~65 $ a year
There are plenty of cheap providers out there with high quality servers. Heck, the $1/month servers from Netcup are stellar and there are plenty of other examples.
so sad, server-factory was rock solid 😢
yeah now hourly disconnects
are you planning to fix the network resets? we will be whole the year disconnecting/connecting
maybe switch providers and stop bumping the thread?
bro just moved out from heartbeat like me
felt so fking free
In fairness, @heartbeat_IT did say they were working on resolving this back in April but then ghosted the issue for months.
My service expired and I'm not renewing it.
Exactly, so in all fairness maybe it's time to simply give up on them.
Maybe you should give him some of your 3/y deals?
We just sent the following E-Mail to our active clients:
a year later, "Emergency Data Center migration"
We are aware of the quality reduction that happened in the past months and are sorry for it. We are working on improving the quality back to the standards we had before. With this migration we are able to solve the issue with the Storage VPS Node your Storage VPS is on as well as we have spare Rack Space to install the new Server and migrate the VPS.
Skylink added new upstreams and then the issues started...
P.S That mostly because of EDGOO, if i recall correctly @BackboneDirect were also using them and moved away.
Our network uses Syklink's Transport towards Nikhef and Skylink IP Transit as backup. Skylink uses it's Transport towards for their IP Transit as well. Main issues in the past weeks / months were issues with this Transport (maintenance, repeater issue, transport offline and so on). During issues with the Transport nearly all clients of Skylink using the Transport use Skylink IP Transit so congestion leads to packet loss.
For Databarn we have a transport to Nikhef as well where we meet ZET for IP Transit and IP Transit from @BackboneDirect within Databarn.
Plan is to build a geo redundant dark fiber connection towards Nikhef in the upcoming months.
Considering this has been happening for the past several months, 7 days is not much of a compensation to be honest with you.
Databarn you will just end up with cooling issues that they wont fix.
plus it is an old office building converted to DC... there were plenty of better choices in AMS
what made you take this one if I may ask?
You are on LET. So most probably colocation price
not even that cheap..
7 months would be more reasonable.
The real questions is, even if heartbeat-it is moving out from Skylink, what is stopping other providers from doing the same.
dirt cheap price
I believe there might be some abuse/overload on network. for example Aurologic have same issue that happens randomly most of time small disconnections with VPS providers using them! like Waicore/Hiddence/DiorHost aka Driphost/Virtualine
Honestly Alexhost been most stable lately but network speed sucks 50mbps
Good Luck
Do other providers in the Skylink have the same persistent issues? Like @QytraDE @HostSlick @24fire or @tubehosting (I don’t know more providers in this dc)? The last time I had a server there the network was still good
Tubehosting/24fire no issues, seems to be location in Germany IDK honestly
Yes, indeed — no such issues here. We’re running via PletX network and everything works perfectly fine as usual
Hello guys,
first of all i like to mention, that SkyLink is a carrier-neutral datacenter.
We have now many clients who do their own routing. That means, if they have an issue in their network, it does not mean that whole SkyLink has same issues or is the reason for this issues.
No, we have no micro-timeouts in our network and other issues are not known.
For example, if a client rent a 10G transport between SkyLink and NIKHEF, then it might happen often, that this 10G are full and then you see such micro-timeouts.
Our own transit is working fine and covers also darkfiber-timeouts. Its not our problem if clients want safe money and trying to make their own cheap transit and wondering that such issues happen.
Please dont blame SkyLink about this, everyone can choose what he want.
exactly, they have no issues, because they know how to manage capacity. As I said, this micro-timeouts or other issues are not SkyLink related.
We’ve been operating gameserver.gratis at SkyLink for over 5 years now - zero network issues ever and our users are extremely sensitive to latency and packet loss (especially in gaming), and the network has always been rock solid.
SkyLink ≠ SkyLink. It depends completely on the upstream and routing setup.
