I can recall that a few years ago, in the Netherlands, the host was required by government to check the customer's image files by hash.

    Bullshit.

Umm, this is/was being done in an automated fashion for checking for child porn and being able to take lawful action. I'm pretty sure I heard about this due to Apple pushing back or implementing it or something.

Yes, but probably after a court order or law enforcement involved when they are suspecting certain servers/services hosting CP, not because a dc/provider felt the urge to do so and never in an automated fashion in the way like, every provider is doing it.

If you know anything about privacy laws you know how ridiculously it is to state this this would happen in NL... NL privacy laws are quite extreme, like too extreme maybe.

All hearsay and I'm willing to defend/explain any case where a Dutch (legal) host snooped on clients . He's setting a narrative. It's 100% utter bullshit.

It's an automated thing using checksums to get around privacy. No court orders needed, just need to add to ToS.

More than interested to see a TOS and example of a host.

Microsoft (onedrive), TikTok. Google drive, etc.

You're using THEIR storage, you abide by their usage rules.

Yes, well I know... We were discussing Dutch hosts/DC's though so...

    Under discussion.

Yes, but it also clearly stated the Dutch do NOT support CSAM, they elaborate in detail why on documents provided.

Automated scanning of user content is okay and is widely used in all countries. This is not prohibited by law and does not violate privacy if you publish this in your AUP/ToS. Usually, this is an item that describes to whom your data may be transferred and in what circumstances.

And look, I dont even 100% agree... Law leaves room for sick fucks to host sick things here as long as they go undetected by law enforcement.

Just saying that rus host is spreading misinformation. Ask any Dutch provider here if you're interested in the topic.

Sure... Leaving out a lot of details again... You can scan user content, anonymously, for certain things. ... Yes. Not for the things CH did and what you were talking about.

    Smokescreen.

ToS will never hold up against local/national law. Never. Might be so russia, Us, not gonna fly here.

I told a real story that happened in the Netherlands with well known host, and I asked them to confirm his request a few times. I don't know the current situation with him, but at least this was a true story.

Is that published in @CharityHost_org’s AUP/ TOS about they would scan their files? Afaik no.

You are just shitting in this thread with “ohhh you can’t host porn in Russia, ohhh you can’t do this in Dutch providers because CSAM”, stop with your freaking changing the topic, no one cares how its done in Putinland or how it’s done for illegal underage content.

The freaking topic here is @CharityHost_org is accessing users’ files. I’m saying accessing because they don’t say clearly how they flag content, if they are manually checking each file, or using a security script to scan file names.

No one cares nor wants to discuss about other topic, if you want to keep blabbering about non related stuff go create your own offtopic.

Guy, @Saragoldfarb has just accused me of being a liar and I responded to him. I also responded directly to other members who asked me about our terms.

@Saragoldfarb - I have already described that I cannot, because I lost part of my old emails.

That is correct, DMCA protected content and Pornography is not allowed on public buckets, and when flagged bucket will be suspended - terminated depending on the violation, if the bucket is private then it can't be accessed publicly so usually there are no reports .

No, we don't like watching gay videos. And as I said, in Russia, all porn distribution is prohibited.

Usually, responsible organizations quickly send a notification about the distribution of such content. Just like when trying to distribute tools for hacking, phishing, copyright infringement, etc.

What about gay novels? Verboten verboten verboten?

globalist propaganda about LGBTQ+ and non-existent genders.

If LET had a movie streaming section, I believe more people would be visiting the drama threads over streaming actual drama movies.
