@serverpoint , I'm a bit confused about the VM details displayed on the dashboard for "LET-BAND1." The correct specifications should be:

    4 x Intel Xeon E5 CPU Cores
    4 GB of RAM
    100 GB SSD storage
    20,000 GB/month data transfer
    Additional 20,000 GB/month data transfer
    1 IPv4 IP address included
    1 Gbps network port
    DDoS protection included

However, it appears that an additional 40 TB/month is being displayed. Is this a display error?

I believe that plan includes 20TBs of data transfer per month and since this offer we published here on LET doubles your bandwidth, then you get another 20TBs.

if you say so then ๐Ÿ‘.

Hi,Any timeframe about the routing fix? (MY ISP- ASN4788)
Previously it was 40+ms,and few days ago the latency spikes to 300+ms.

4 days for me the ping 200ms++.

    it still not fix right?

As far as I understand, the issue you were having should not be happening.

But there are other latency issues due to some fiber cuts in the SEA region...

thank u. issue is fix,now i got even better ping than original ping before the problem

Latency between Server Point SG and Hetzner SG is ~180ms. Can you look into this?

Yes, unfortunately there isn't anything we can do there. It seems Hetzner's router is deciding to use NTT to reach us, and NTT does not peer much in the SEA area, but mostly around Japan, Korea, etc.

But we've been in talks with NTT to also buy bandwidth from them.

But to justify one more provider, we need you all to buy more services from us in that area. :)

Would it be cheaper and more beneficial to get open peering at SGIX? I know there's a few neighboring ISPs doing open peering at SGIX.

That's in the roadmap, but probably more towards the end of the year. For now, we get access to more routes by adding one or two more providers to our mix.

We have NTT at two other locations (Virginia and Amsterdam), thus adding one more location to our contract would be the next logical choice.

We are about to post a new offer for our Xeon Gold 3.4Ghz virtual servers! Stay tuned :)

  • post it

  • Would be great to see more IXP participation at other locations as well. You have solid upstreams, but it's always nice to keep traffic local.

Just curious, is Lumen no longer an upstream in Las Vegas? I don't see them in the mix currently. Also any updates on IPv6? :)

Absolutely agree. We've never connected to a local exchange, so that is something that we will be experimenting with in the near future.

As for Lumen... Lumen and ServerPoint are in a bit of a fight... :)

We purchased a burstable 100g circuit, and one day, while pushing full 100g for testing purposes, we realized that the circuit couldn't handle it; they oversold the local circuit.

So... we are awaiting... and waiting... for them to do something about it. It has just been a lot of back and forth.

As for IPv6, it will first appear at our Dallas, TX data center, as part of our new dedicated server offerings there (coming soon). This is because we were just there and we did a lot of changes in the network to support it, so it's our current testbed.

If it works fine, then we will duplicate the changes across all other locations (except Santa Clara, CA, as we are scheduled to completely redo the network there sometime during summer).

i got this comment in my post of searching a server for Semi-Private Pixelfed in SG with cheapest price options:

    and my answer was like:

    - Is there any reason we should be concerned about it? - nope.

i don't see any problem, not going to accept every stranger for Pixelfed instance, maximum security from bots/ddos/registration requirements.

    - Is there any reason we should be concerned about it? - nope.

i don't see any problem, not going to accept every stranger for Pixelfed instance, maximum security from bots/ddos/registration requirements.

ok :) Then you should be good to host it at ServerPoint. :)

I do suggest though that you do not host it in Singapore if you feel it will use a lot of bandwidth.

Yes, our costs are higher there, so we are very observant of resource usage by clients in Singapore. If you go over the limit, you will hear from our team and may be billed for extra usage if you accidentally go over your limits and didn't notice.

At our other data centers however, we don't care much if someone goes above their bandwidth limit. We have so much bandwidth capacity (and cheaper) at all other locations.

    Size LET-DISK1
Is it no longer available for purchase?

    Take a look here: https://portal.serverpoint.com/#/public/checkout/vs/letmar25

Are these the droids you are looking for? :)

    Yes, thank you very much.
    Can I get a discount on LET2-DISK2?

Sorry, those prices are final, unless you are a volume buyer (100+).

  • Is it not possible to purchase Size LET-DISK1?

Unfortunately, no. Those plans were already canceled in our system. But I believe LET-DISK1 and LET2-DISK1 are the same though...?
