This is the reason you will see a lot of routes going via amsterdam right now as their IX ports are still live there and likely preferred by a lot of local ISPs in London.

Their IX ports aren't online at the moment as it seems, no route to host and hold timer expired?

Read what you said wrong, yeah that'd make sense, will be interesting to see how it progresses

We have moved our connection with path in london, reviewing when is going to be appropriate to swing our clients back to them currently.

In regards to the borked routing - they are still in london, they moved into the same dc we use so we have a physical cross connect now.

They struggled to get some T1 ports changed over in time so they're live with reduced capacity as a short term resolution to having london customers down. You'll probably see peers go back up and latency go back down in the coming weeks as their other T1's get the ports moved for them.

GTT is very very slow when it comes to ports being moved or going up/down so I kind of expected this.

This is the reason you will see a lot of routes going via amsterdam right now as their IX ports are still live there and likely preferred by a lot of local ISPs in London.

I'm surprised you're even considering going back.

FYI, Rivage was wronged by path multiple times, not to mention he never leaked anything. He did disclose that he had not been paid and was suing the company, and was let go because of that.

I can see that USA media is 100% about politics when path.net suddenly becomes a reputable cybersecurity company when they have to give some value to the fact he had dispute with Marshal (Who is as bad or worse than Rivage) in order to discredit the republicans and the people working in doge.

As for his Russian language bot, his mother is an immigrant (now citizen), and afaik it was some AI related to his another project https://getyo.ai/. Krebs really has taken everything out of context in the article to sensationalize everything lol.

Then theres that ridiculous chat snippet of ArmoredVM Discord server which has the names of the biggest shit talkers/drama creators in that channel.

I bet Marshal and rest of path.net crooks are so jealous right now, they are willing to say anything to anyone in order to discredit some person who got away from their abuse and actually made a career for himself.

As much as I hate Elon Musk, Its good to know Rivage has his back and can actually pursue his dreams in IT career. lets just hope it wont go to his head and he keeps himself grounded and focuses on what's important.

Im most annoyed about the fact Krebs knows full well how crooked and full of liars path.net is, yet hes giving them enough credit to run this article. But it is as you say, there are no honor among thieves and from Krebs perspective, why would he want to give anyone involved in such communities, even for learning purpose any benefit of doubt.

Theres always a new low for path.net. Right now the company is so worthless, Marshal literally uses it's name and image to bully his ex employees when theyre about to make it in life. I would love to know what the original investors of path.net think if they are aware of this circus and what the company is now ultimately used for. A tool for shit talking ex employees that the CEO has beef with xD

Krebs is just reporting the facts. He's not painting Path as an innocent company with no shady background. In fact he mentions the shady stuff that Path has been involved in, but he already did an article on that, so he's not going to waste time hashing it out again.

And no matter how shady path is, a leaker is still a leaker. This kid should not have access to the entire US social security database with everyone's name, age, location etc... Nobody that had a history in a cybercrime community like "the com" should EVER have access to something like this.

There's absolutely no reason to believe that Path is playing 4d chess and pretending in pms that he leaked something when he didn't because they saw the future that he would get into doge.

And these are the kinds of people that worked at path and still work at path.

Marshal is known to be paranoid. He thinks that everyone is leaking stuff. No proof was given. Only claims which the media took as facts. If he leaked anything, he would had been sued. Path has sued for thank comments in LET before.

Im also very biased against marshal cuz 2 of my friends have been interning or working there for free and treated badly while one still works there.

Personally I think hes an asshole and full of himself so even if he talks the truth, I would not believe it.

Even if he didn't leak anything he was still caught being involved with the cybercrime community "The Com" and caught red handed buying ddos attacks.

Archived Telegram messages shared with WIRED show that, in November 2022, a person using the handle “JoeyCrafter” posted to a Telegram channel focused on so-called distributed denial of service (DDoS) cyberattacks that bombard victim sites with junk traffic to knock them offline. In his messages, JoeyCrafter—which records from Discord, Telegram, and the networking protocol BGP indicate was a handle used by Coristine—writes that he’s “looking for a capable, powerful and reliable L7” that accepts bitcoin payments. That line, in the context of a DDoS-for-hire Telegram channel, suggests he was looking for someone who could carry out a layer-7 attack, a certain form of DDoS. A DDoS-for-hire service with the name Dstat.cc was seized in a multinational law enforcement operation last year.

The JoeyCrafter Telegram account had previously used the name “Rivage,” a name linked to Coristine on Discord and at Path, according to Path internal communications shared with WIRED. Both the Rivage Discord and Telegram accounts at times promoted Coristine’s DiamondCDN startup.

Path sent a legal notice to like 3 people that thanked my comment one time such as @MannDude because they knew Curtis Gervais leaked the same shit to me that he leaked to the incel forums and beyond, and it was going to come out in a LEB article.

The comment was directly related and I think the notices mostly went out to previous Path employees or contractors. They did send a C&D to LEB, though. As did Ross Ulbricht’s exes team lol.

That’s why Path is actively in a lawsuit with Curtis Gervais, because he was trying to take customers, leak shit, defame them, etc.

Every shitter that worked there decides it’s unethical only after Marshall decides to stop paying them. Funny how that works.

Yeah, I received a C&D for "Thanking" a post. I don't think it was then (or even now, really) common knowledge that I briefly worked an entry level position for Tempest for like 3 or 4 months in 2023 for some extra money. So it's not like my "Thanks" carried any actual weight to the public who seen it. No one on LET would have thought, "Oh, MannDude liked this, so it must be true". A complete waste of money for them to have a law office draft a cease and desist to me.

Ultimately, Path won as the result was the finished article was never published. But these business strategies in the US are used all the time to keep negative content (even if it’s factual and accurate) from coming out, so it’s nothing surprising or new.

Though, looking back I was way too influenced by others opinions and I would have regretted supporting the narrative Curtis Gervais wanted me to push, as it was definitely biased.

I do agree with your comment above that Marshal Webb is pretty intelligent and the product works well, just needs to stop behaving like a 13-year-old skid.

Damn. I bought some slices for an anycast project but had to cancel them because I didn't realize they use Path for anycast routing.

Yesterday ALL US traffic was going to NY.

    Today..? Well:

    https://ping.pe/198.251.86.110

That IP is announced in Vegas, Miami, New York and Luxembourg. Should be active until the service cancels here in 25 days or so. Feel free to check it periodically to see if things smooth out.

It’s unclear why they initiated a data center migration in Dallas and Sydney without having these ports ready, especially since they have no clue when they will be ready.
