It seems like @hosthatch is actively replying in this thread, so I am going to try it again.
No, you just pointed us out, instead of starting with your favorite ones who do the same.
No, we don't. Again, lying. Already explained above how we provide a completely different service and expectations.
Never criticized a host for calling it cores instead of CPU or whatever you are smoking. But I assume when when trying to act like an adult, you have to add some trolling. Please, show me where I said this. Screenshot would be great.
Also, again, isn't that what the provider in your display picture is doing? I don't see their name in the title here. https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/195170/hosthatch-openly-lying-about-offers-only-providing-half-of-the-advertised-cores/p1
Shady according to you, and 0 other people. Even after your thread to try and rally other people. And somehow LET mods allowed the thread to remain public.
Of course, you're trying to finally speak partially normally instead of an angry skid. Some average random skid trying to defame with pure lies what I have built for nearly 13 years is finally getting down to adulthood (although clearly not completely yet) makes me happy. I wonder if some of this is your left over feelings because you asked for a job at one point and I had to politely refused, because I don't have the temper to have an unhinged kid work in the company I have spent 12-16 hours every day for the last many many years building on every day.
"All the market bad. But I will choose to particularly troll one provider." Definitely not religious and only based on unbiased facts.
Funny one, but I have little control over complex issues that need days of investigation. As a finally growing-up somewhat adult, you should understand that there is more than one person who works at HostHatch, and different people work on different things. I am aware of multiple issues that have been mentioned. I am not ignoring, its just that that are being worked on and me replying to an almost-adult-troll trying to defame us doesn't take time away from it.
The sales part of this thread was over a long time ago
We will have more somewhere in August. I will try to make the exact date/time known in advance so everyone has a fair chance to get one of our "fake CPU cores".
Please email me at a@hosthatch and I will see if we can offer it. We normally do not offer single resource upgrades on promotional plans (and even normal plans in most cases).
sure. i dont mind paying "fake price" for "fake cores"
@hosthatch
nice, Chief!
It's funny though that he thinks I'm some die hard fan because I photoshopped Fran to look naked
Such a huge meaning to extract from a blurred, nude & photoshopped picture of someone
Edit: If it makes you feel better, whoever is behind the HH account, send me a similar photo of yourself and Fran can be replaced
Truly happy for you for that, and congrats on that.
Either you really do not know, or you are acting like you don't know (somehow I feel it is the latter), but here it is: it is an accepted truth in the community that with these group of providers, who call it "dedicated" cores, which means you can use as much as you want, but you are likely to have severe CPU steal, because everyone is competing for the same CPU. It is just unsustainable at that pricing (at least for us), but the overall deal is too good to pass, because of the price. People usually buy knowing that they are buying this, because it is good enough for their use case, at that price point.
I truly and honestly cannot believe that you are not aware of this when most of this community agrees on the above.
We do not sell that. We do not sell 4 dedicated cores for $10/mo. And no, I was not pointing to the particular German provider whose thread it was, I was referring to the larger ones, one of which seems to sell NVMe disks and then limit to almost HDD speeds. I consider those far bigger "fake marketing crimes" than calling cores threads or whatever your argument is.
We don't sell unmetered, purely because we like to clarify limits on what is acceptable, instead of doing the "FUP" thing. Isn't selling "unmetered" and then having a 5-10-20-100TB limit a far bigger marketing crime? Where are your threads about those?
How is the transition to a swedish company going? Will the deals in August be sold by a swedish entity? Or will it be bf?
Thanks! Been working hard for it, but as you know hard works pays off.
Sure, that's bad as well. As soon as any provider who does that makes comments criticising your marketing (calling threads 'cores'), I'll be sure to mention it. Just let me know.
That's where I'm coming from.
Obviously this is a question for HostHatch, but as somewhat of a creep myself it's been registered for a while (not used though from what I know).
@emgh sir chief
@emgh , wow, yu cto, that it s derk megik. my i m lov
ddr ignor
dc white hous baserment
is good regards ?
that it s good, check yu dm
I'm afraid I don't really have an update on this, other than saying not any time soon. The reasons we had for moving to Sweden have slowly started becoming less and less, and the complications that we add (taxes-wise, but also a lot of other stuff) is a bit too much. So it will remain a US-based company for the foreseeable future.
@hosthatch what's the correct way to install an os on a vps from the panel with a custom iso (either provided by HostHatch or user uploads it)
2 off my vps are unable to boot, neither comes up even when mounting an iso (netboot.xyz).
Ofcourse I will have a ticket open (but not expecting instant response) but some help will be appreciated
Are both of those Sydney storage VMs? I know you have a ticket in for the Sydney storage VM, it is a complex issue and needs some time, but please know that we are working on it. You can ask for an extension once the issue is resolved.
As for any other ones, please open a ticket and we'll look at it asap.
Sydney got resolved with multiple trial and errors.
Now I have issue with Chicago/ NY/ London storage which were migrated to the New infrastructure.
Have the ticket open. Let's see what support has to say
That's unfortunate to hear because I was looking forward to get an enforceable data processing agreement. On the other hand, this way the services remain tax free for me.
I'm not aware of any hypervisor (hyperv, ESXi, KVM, etc) that configures threads per VM and instead all use cores. So, you're coming off as an annoying asshole and it's not even pedantry.
I had a problem with a london compute server not booting yesterday, and hosthatch fixed it within several hours of opening the ticket. Big thanks to the team at Hosthatch.
👍
And I've done exactly that. Guess I'll be making a review in about a month or two time on probably Hosthatch's quietest node (Japan)
Tokyo is actually one of our top 3 sold locations, and is quite often totally sold out. The node you are on is close to 60% filled. And will be at 100% in the next few weeks.
Looking forward to your review
Well can certainly say I have seen less than 0.5 percent steal
I have asked for one my nodes at hosthatch to be restricted to dedicated cores only and can confirm this will result in practically 0% steal this way. Unfortunately the linux cpu scheduler is not smart enough to schedule stuff on the dedicated core first.
I look forward to you writing a fair and honest comparison of a dedicated CPU VM from DigitalOcean/Linode/Vultr, how much it costs, and how we compare in performance. Would be even better if you could spend as much energy as you have in the past few days on trying to prove the opposite, since you did say you were trying to completely objective and impartial and only facts matter, not feelings
I've posted complaints here about problems with vultr as well, just because you didn't notice it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/188201/vultr-patched-to-hide-cpu-steal
I also didn't spend much energy to prove negative things about your service, that's why I didn't save screenshots from 1 year ago showing high cpu steal at hosthatch. But I'm recording all this information now.
Really, not everyone is here to trash to your service. Someone posting their experiences here is sometimes just an honest review, and not a scammer or competitor.
FWIW Custom .iso's never worked for me for my Sydney storage box, I'm guessing something to do with the boot nvme partition. Ended up just installing on top of one of their OS images
I was able to get it working with netboot last week. It seemed their panel went nuts for sometime. Plus all operations like loading iso/ rebooting server needed to be done with patience.
Try again, you may be surprised.
