Bank told me that apply for refund should be within 3 months😅
Normally you will get a “temp credit” from the back within 7-10 working days while the chargeback is investigated, then when the refund is issued by the company the bank will keep it since they already gave you the money.
Good luck
I received an email saying the company hostaris going bankruypt then the same happened.
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Or paying once more and disputing that too.
Conclusion: Hostaris is likely alive and well
Depends on card issuer bank
Crazy how this drama came to an end that fast XD
Yup, people just want drama at all costs, even when it turns out everything’s likely fine…
LET & its drama…
yes
The virtfusion interface on manage.hostaris.com seems to be down now, its throwing cloudflare 522 errors.
Whole thread is TLDR; but the first post says a new person inhabited the "company" and all will be well now.
The reality I'm experiencing is the other way around.
And who is xHosts? Where is ArgonMan?
Please someone either state that my money is long gone, and I won't be receiving any service, or point me in the right direction to get support regarding my servers.
Cheers.
I have offered deals to people who lost their services at Hostaris most either matching or very close to the pricing at Hostaris
You are best to dispute the payment you made to them, they are gone.
Closed their discord
VM manager has been down for a while
They advised their customers to dispute payments to get a refund
The companies house address had been updated to a HMRC address
long gone, chargeback while you can
long gone... you had a chance to get the data off the vms using ipv6 for a few weeks after ipv4 was removed by original owner (you would think they would buy everything to operate the company, but idk). ofc they mentioned in discord before nuking it, you had to be on LET to know.
ended up going to cloudvider for a 2 year plan for the 50% off. im sure by then that vps will be due a migration anyway.
shame hostaris blew up just after cloudvider finished doing a LET offer with double bandwidth
paying £42.39/2yr for VPS-2. which is not much more than the hostaris vps i had xeon london. (£18/yr)
GB6 score is 4x - 6x higher. 2x ram. disk, netspeed, latency also better. only downside is 5TB max bandwidth per month but fine for me.
Hostass never extinct like cockroach, only dinosaurs do.

just bought one, pretty good😘😘
i bought their services in last year black friday. How can I get refund in this case? My chargeback period is also over
Contact them but if the chargeback period has expired and they fail to reply you will have lost it
chargeback timelimits have a lot of extra clauses so theres not exactly a set limit for every transaction. you might need to call your bank. sooner is better than later.
120 days is just a default where they consider the transaction settled, theres usually also "OR when the service/goods were expected to be recieved." too. in the latter case you have 3 years to chargeback. which your transaction likely falls under.

still maybe a good idea to use a credit card for new companies. as they have far better protections
if its paypal im not sure....
Well, CC companies have no problem clawing the money back from Paypal. The bigger question is if one would want to royally piss off Paypal.
Yes. If you CC chargeback a PayPal transaction, instead of going through PayPal, even if you win, I’d be suprised if your PayPal isn’t getting suspended, or at the very least, warned. Not worth it IMO.
Pay with PayPal to get PayPal protection, and with credit card to get credit card protection.
yes this would be pretty much guaranteed to get yourself banned on paypal. im not sure if theres anything you can do if you did via paypal, best option is to maybe try support and see if they will do it given the situation, worst case you bring it up to a csuite email if support is unable to help....
at this rate youll be lucky to get anything from administrators, other creditors are going to be in front (payment processor, colocation are two i can think of) youll get pennies per pound. assuming anything is done correctly, are they even in administration proceedings?
I've been trying to reach Alex for over 10 days now, but still no luck.
Ouch, This was a painful lesson on external backups.
Thanks @xHosts , your VPS is dope. Subscribing to you might just be the best part of this
Thanks for the feedback, I will be doing some special monthly packages soon, any feedback on the offers threads will be a great help
@xHosts
I have successfully placed an order.
Invoice #5326
As a refugee of hostaris, will I be given double Bandwidth ?
When I bought it, it was already gone
After hostaris restored my 2 core VPS it is unavailable again. All I wanted is a simple nginx load balancer for my HA k8s cluster haha. It's not like I was putting some heavy workload in it haha.
lesson learned, no business with small hosting
