Just because they host in the same DC, does not mean they rent from dedipath.
ohh man, virmach is soo screwed
Well... Virmach already had problems.
I've been lucky so far with VirMach, I think I've had 10 hours downtime total on all my servers with them for like the past year, and ~8 of those were from a DDoS targeting xtom.
But now I'm going to lose a pretty nice VPS near me. Good thing I have a bunch of idlers to replace it with, I guess?
Wonder what warrant the 24h notice. They're not even a small mom and pop provider imho. Strange
I was looking at DediPath for west coast colo a few months ago, but never moved forward. This is really quite shocking seeing how large they are.
bills on the 1st and they have negative money in their accounts, I guess?
Dedipool
Been trying to get my equipment out of their for 1 month now and they keep putting my ticket on hold.... Suspect they are reselling client hardware at this point...
Know staff at DP (Used to be there).
I'd move your systems if you have any with them. It is legit email.
The End is Nigh
Thats impossible. How could we move servers in one day specially if you 25 of them.
Yeah, not really the best situation. Wish everyone the best in doing so. I would not want to be in this position personally.
Rclone: hold my beer.
Might wanna update your signature
Is there any company that can accomodate us with urgent colo requirements for servers located in NY and LA centres.
Update, he just got fired via email.
And I dont know why Dedipath ad is still running under footer here on LET.
DediWTF
Customers and employees fired with 24 hours notice.
I've been pretty bombarded this morning with messages as you can imagine.
I can confirm I left DediPath quite a bit ago. Putting in many years into DediPath and seeing it go down like this really hurts. My departure was amicable, and I had high hopes the company would be ok.
I apologize to anyone affected by this. While it’s completely out of my control it still weighs on me.
Giving them benefit of the doubt, sounds like they tried a hail-mary pass a few days ago pumping out sales threads on LET / LES to generate income for bills, but likely couldn't come to an agreement with their datacenter(s) and decided to throw in the towel.
MailChimp IDs are the same from the closure email as their 20% coupon on the homepage sends out.
Not sure how they didn't make this happen, did they not own their own IPs? See a lot of IPXO, but also see a lot of Cyprus /24's from LVNET LTD which seems to be gone.
If I wanted to not give them the benefit of the doubt, I'd wonder if this weren't just to get the IPs from LVNET Cyprus, which they seem to be announcing quite a lot of: https://bgp.he.net/AS35913#_prefixes to sell off.
Weird if they own all those Cyprus IPs yet 'went out of business'
Maybe they found more $$$ in IPs. I know many ISPs here who did mid-late 2010's.
VirmAche PHX is on AS35913 DediPath too.
Phoenix location of AS200690 and push-up delivery network is hosted on VirmAche PHX so this would affect me, but my network is fully resilient so I don't worry much.
Good thing I only purchase servers for idling, no need to worry about backups, migrations, or deadpools.
It is good that @EthernetServers and @HostEONS have done migration in advance before dedipath close the service.
Does EthernetServers also use Dedipath? I thought their migration was away from their former upstream Dedicated.
Nevermind it was actually Dedipath
It seem that this is real, becuase dedipath.com can't buy any new vps.
Tomorrow's uptime monitors are going to have a field day and be as RED as my crypto
Colo, no, dedicated yes. We can get you setup right now if needed.
