[MXroute] Buy this before I sober up

edited June 2022 in Offers

Alright listen up. Sooner or later, everyone kills a hooker. Whether directly or indirectly. Hold on, that's the wrong script. Oh yeah, here we go. Let me try again.

MXroute customers have been asking for more storage for a long time and aside from a 100GB promo back in 2018 (I think it was?) we just don't do it. Well, I'm going to pretend to be drunk and offer 100GB storage again. So let's do that. First, the offers:

  • Summer 2022
  • 100GB Storage
  • Unlimited Domains
  • Unlimited Emails
  • 300 outbound per hour (per email)
  • Annually: $65
  • Biennially: $120
  • Triennially: $150

You get a discount for how much time you prepay for, the best deal obviously being prepaying for 3 years. We're looking to deadpool soon so need to get a 3 year promo out. These are very limited in number, these larger storage boxes are not the usual hardware deployment. Next up:

  • 25% off Small, Medium, Large, or Lifetime plans with promo code "SUMMER22" at checkout.

Now that I've posted the offers, let's introduce MXroute to those that may not be familiar with it. MXroute is an email provider where customers bring their own domains. Our customers range from well funded startups to that guy in the corner over there trying to hack all of your cell phones while you read this, just to see if he can do it. We provide all of the universal standards you should expect: IMAP, SMTP, POP3. We have a DirectAdmin-based control panel and while it isn't everything you've dreamed of for managing email it does a pretty damn good job, and it's not really our selling point. We offer the finest webmail you've ever laid eyes upon called Crossbox, both for your browser and with native apps for both iOS and Android (Search Crossbox Cloud or MXroute in App/Play store). We also offer Roundcube, Snappy (better Rainloop fork), and Afterlogic as webmail choices. For those who love Card/CalDAV, Afterlogic makes it simple for you to have that on our service.

My number one pride and joy at MXroute is delivering outbound emails. I need you to set your DNS, but if you do that I'll get an email where it needs to go or I'll die trying. If an IP of ours is blacklisted it is pulled from production for a cooldown period, and if we fail several delivery attempts from multiple IPs we pass the email on to mail.baby to give it one last try before we give up.

A brief FAQ:

Q: Can I switch my plan to this promo?
A: You can purchase a new promo and migrate your own data to it freely, but no action will be taken on our part to assist with the billing or migration when moving to a promo. It's nothing personal, it's just how we sustain promotions by relying on our automated systems, and promos are often entirely based on newly provisioned servers.

Q: Can I really add UNLIMITED domains?
A: Ok real talk. If you add so many domains that it breaks a server, we have no choice but to consider that "Server Abuse" by our Terms of Service. I don't know what that number is, but if you have to randomly generate the domain names and push them over the API to add them all by end of year then yeah that's probably the number. Since 2013 we've had 2 customers find out what that number was for them, and I don't think you're statistically likely to find yourself in their company. We're not going to be dicks about it btw, we fully refunded those 2 customers.

Q: What kind of services don't you allow?
A: Good question. Leak forums (forum where people shared leaked password databases), adult forums (you know, porn), anyone who has to send hundreds of emails at a time to qq.com (I don't even know), deceptive use of third party services through us (ex. randomly generating email accounts to sign up for 5,000 Steam accounts), forward-only service for a massive number of domains (11.8k domains under one account was the number that broke it and added that to policy).

Q: What is your refund policy?
A: Pitchforks. Please don't sign up if you think you might want a refund. I'd rather lose the potential sale. I really don't care if it's unfriendly, it's the only way to stop people from forcing me to offer "Free trials" and eating the overhead that they generate. That overhead bleeds into our actual client's services if I let it, and I will violently refuse to raise prices on my customers.

Q: Where are your servers located?
A: For this offer you will be provisioned in OVH Canada. For other services, you'll either be in Hetzner or ReliableSite.

Q: Can we choose custom locations?
A: Afraid not.

Q: What is "hostname" on the order form?
A: That's the initial domain you are signing up with. I need a domain to provision the account. You aren't married to it, you can rename the domain later or replace it with another.

I want to toss in some other, less advertised features:

    • Active prevention against your website being used to send spam.
    • Protection against spam registrations on your websites/forums/blogs/etc.
    • Deliverability admin monitoring/alerting, essentially you're hiring a full time admin to make sure your domain doesn't destroy it's own reputation because you made a mistake in one line of code.
    • Very fast reaction to password compromise. If you reuse passwords everywhere and get compromised, we'll lock it down and let you know ASAP.
    • Open source all the things: https://github.com/mxroute

On the one hand, my other MXRoute service is idle. OTOH, Google is making me pay now, so… what the heck!

The service I'm actually using is one of those earlier 100G plans ( 2019, I actually renewed it today ) and I feel borderline guilty for what I get so I keep a second service idling because the two together is still more than enough value for me.

    Shut the hell up...
And take the full length of my standard yearly payment...?

Innuendos aside. Take this deal while you can. It is a very good service.

25% off promo was accidentally not recurring. Fixed.

  • I'm a customer since 2018.. Couldn't be happier. If you are looking for a super solid mail solution take your chance and grab it.

    Hi,
Do your servers also support options like push notifications, IMAP idle or active sync? If yes, also for contacts and calendars?
    Thanks

@jar I probably asked about it before, but do you offer imap push? Something similar to microsfot exchange server that an email is sent to your phone instead of your phone having to download messages once in a while?

Edit: Ok, i found answer. NO!

@Hotmarer what you thinking of is IMAP idle it worked when I used mxroute in the past the mail client pulled new email within 20 or so secs after arrival.

But you had an email client configured to chcek for email every minute, for example. And I don't want to configure my client this way (sometimes you can't force it, e.g. in apple mail). I would like the mail server to send an email to my phone when it arrives because in one hour I can get 100 emails and nothing in the rest of the day.

Pretty sure he’s meaning support for Lemonade profile. Not sure if DA/Dovecot support it.

I don't have my client set to poll ever X min,I just test sent a email to one of my domains I still got at Mxroute, the default mail client on my Samsung phone sync schedule is set to auto (when received) it came right away.

If you telnet port 143 idle is enabled

    * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE LITERAL+ STARTTLS AUTH=PLAIN] Dovecot DA ready.

  • Hey @jar, trying to use SUMMER22 for Lifetime plan but getting "This coupon cannot be applied to your order". It should work for Lifetime right?

"25% off Small, Medium, Large, or Lifetime plans with promo code "SUMMER22" at checkout."

    Thanks!
