Oh no, hope you get your backup sorted! Never a good feeling haha
I've been blessed with an extremely high metabolism I suppose. I can eat like a garbage truck and still maintain my weight and lose weight rapidly if I don't. I actually went from size 32 to all my pants flying off without a belt in a period of a month or two by lowering my caloric intake to under 3000 while building servers and working long hours.
Anyway, I stay around 20 BMI.
(edit) But yes working out helps, that just went out the door with COVID. I was a lot leaner then, with similar or even higher weight from having more muscles. There was a time long ago when I could even pick up 200 pound storage servers.
Woah, killing all other IP addresses (especially for those BF one and going -10%) will make people angry.
I think I snatched 5 IP, 2 vCores, 2GB RAM, 5GB disk and... 100 GB bandwidth for like 12$ a year and it served me well for my Discord text bot and those IP-limits
. Why you sold it for that much - no idea, but VirtBot was pretty fucking nice for my use case
I understand that in current market this is (always was!) expensive AF, but personally I wouldn't drop that for 10% (Okey, I would, just being nice because I don't need that anymore).
I guess you want to leave CC totally so idk, probably give people an option for "Drop IPs - move to Ryzen; Don't drop IPs - we discontinue that product, refunding rest of contract".
Well yeah, I personally feel like the fact that we're not going to potentially do it AND force people to keep it should by default be the fair way to do it.
I think we've come pretty far because I still remember having a discussion some time ago where I said we may allow specials to move to Ryzen but without IPv4 or price increase, or having to remain on E5 as a possibility and we're already moving pretty much everyone so maybe we'll just keep it to avoid upsetting people. I'm very much still just evaluating.
What if for every N additional IPs VirMach reduced, multiply the resources by N times? 🤔
That'd be pretty funny to see for some 8GB / 8 IP special.
I was actually going to consider doing $3.60 a year reduction or something like that until someone asked for his 3 or so additional IP addresses on his $5.60 or something a year special and we'd end up having to pay him.
Then we could do 10% per 1 IPv4 but there's people with 8 IP addresses so that's 70%* off.
Now I feel guilty as I am the culprit of the 8GB 8IP thing...
I want you to take a look at my ticket, because it has been 48 hours and my ip is no longer available,
I want you to stop quoting me, because I have nothing to do with VirMach. Clicking correct part of post can't be that hard, right?
I have looked at your ticket.
However even if you decide to 'keep it to avoid upsetting people' you still will need to merge all those services on one/few dedis and same subnet for cost saving - people will still get mad about IP addresses change, I guess :-)
But I have no tickets
I mean I can open one if you want? 3.6$ for each IP address on 5 IP, 12$ service, k?
How about doing it the other way around and start billing for additional IPs with the next renewal?
How much you think they should charge for extra IP on those special deals worth 8-20$ per year that comes with 2-8 IPs? Like 6 times the yearly price? I would rather have things discontinued (in advance, like 3-6 months?) then wake up to "We have 8x your bill!".
Not a good idea, it may upset some people.
Well that wouldn't really solve the problem. It may just upset everyone, and cement the fact that we're doing price increases concerning others, AND it would still require all the coordination and support involved with adding the IP addresses back by default.
I have replied to your ticket in the future.
Thank you for the reply, we've quadrupled your service recurring price!
Great minds think alike.
Hey, can you provide those Powerball lotto numbers too? I think I would be able to buy a lot of services from you then.

I won't tell you which year it's for though but 100% guarantee it will be drawn sometime in the next few millennia.
I cancelled the last of my multi-IP vps's when I picked up a dedi from you, but I used to be one of the users that actually used them, so I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. Personally, with the way IPv4 prices are, I would completely understand dropping additional IPs with the move to Ryzen, even without any discount or compensation. Of course, if I could keep IPs at no additional cost would be great, but deals don't last forever and I feel like the Ryzen migration is already a pretty big compensation.
I'm still curious what the move away from CC will mean for my dedi though.
I think this seems like a reasonable enough approach. It's not a huge gift to customers and it'll probably upset a few people, but so did Hetzner's IPv4 pricing changes, and sometimes you have to make those business decisions.
@VirMach Don't forget people who used the migrate button and got allocated an ip but the migrate failed. We still need to migrate and don't need the extra ip - so assume remove newly assigned ip before disabling any migrate option.
Well the idea behind that would be that we don't want extreme cases where it fails and fails and customer ends up with like 6 IP addresses.
I'd keep schtum.
How about a one-off double renewal price, to retain number of IPs? OVH manage to do a single payment. Just a thought.
How about IPv6 for JP Ryzen vps ? Received no IPv6 after migrate from San Jose to Japan.
@VirMach
There is no IPv6 yet for anybody in Japan.
Mine did come with IPv6 enabled - and it works like a charm
WTF ???? Consider me officially jealous.
