From your perspective (me,me.me); without seeing "the bigger picture" and sussing out LET/LES is for his 'break time', even though there are some fabulous insights and detailed updates.
(Doesn't help if you're the one waiting for a response that is important to you.)

@VirMach any progress on NYC storage since jim carrey dropped it off?

Why was my order cancelled. I waited more than two months for this result? I need an explanation.

You should be glad that he has refunded you. My ticket has not been processed for 72 hours. He saw my post yesterday, but he did not process it for me, and no one responded.

If he spent less time on here responding to useless questions(not yours)then he might get tickets answered. I'm waiting for ticket response also, but I'm afraid I just going to write off the loss. Lesson learned.

I take a 1H break for every comment suggesting I'm essentially a robot and not human.

I'm still on the lookout for a motherboard replacement and too afraid to try to boot it up. I've been avoiding it more than I should and I apologize. I'll try to get a prognosis today and if it doesn't work then just revert to a quick dual E5 replacement just to get the thing out.

Do you mind sharing which 3D Printer? Always wanted to get one for custom phone case and other stuff (so I don't have to buy brackets for UPS and other mounting equipments)

I've pretty much bought and tried all of them except the one I really wanted which is a Prusa because they take a long time to ship them out.

Ultimaker S5 was my favorite due to the size but it's insane price and ran into a lot of problems which would be acceptable for a $200 printer but not something like $8,000. The current one I purchased that's arriving Monday is a BIBO 3D. Mainly got it because it was [A] available by Monday, and [B] dual extruder for faster printing. It also has good reviews for specific things I'm looking for in relation to setting up and getting it semi-functional quickly, as well as metal frame which is important because I'm recently prone to knocking everything into eachother. Most negative reviews for the BIBO 3D essentially complain about it not lasting long which is fine for us right now.

Flashforge Adventure 3D is probably the "easiest to use" but also objectively the worst in pretty much every way.

Creality Ender/Comgrow is the closest to the experience you'd have with a 3D printer maybe 10 years ago. It malfunctions a lot but it's an "open source" vibe whether positive or negative, and cheap extruders and accessories.

Originally wanted to go with a Formlabs Form 3L or similar but decided against the technology it utilizes for our use case.

yea, i got one of those "i'd rather pull my own teeth" projects on the go as well... starts with the letter j and ends in avascript dependency hell.

anyways, appreciate the update, just wanted to check back in, no rush.

    To the almighty Vir-futures,

Just wake up and received an email about the delivery of Tokyo Storage (PID 655000).

Unfortunately, I'm literally unable to access the service.

    1. Preset password won't work, since port 22 is closed.

    2. Unable to access the web-panel neither, The ERROR MESSAGE goes below:

Operation Timed Out After 90001 Milliseconds With 0 Bytes Received

May the kernel panic bless you all.

Yup you probably are on that node that kept having issues... Experiment is really experimental in this case yet again haha.

Thanks! I looked at the first one and literally thought: If all his suggestions are THAT Pricy, I would probably get murdered in my sleep if I bought one 🤣

On a side note though, I initially thought UPS, USPS and FedEx are not as horrible as your previous updates mentioned... Then all went to hell in the past month and I had to spent 3 days in a week dealing with complaints last week... Totally get your pain now.

Package missing in transit for more than a week? ✅
Saw the delivery vehicle drive past your house and forget to stop? ✅
Customer service never answer the phone? ✅

    Jeez.

Yeah looks like it died and trying to reboot. I had it open on SSH and it's spitting out ECC memory errors. Let's see if it comes back online and then try to schedule a replacement. We do have some extra servers here that are not being used so we can do a memory swap.

    Controller looks healthy.

My 500GB storage server information is:

Operation Timed Out After 90001 Milliseconds With 0 Bytes Received

  • My storage instance at Tokyo is activated, but the control panel cannot be opened with the information "Operation Timed Out After 90001 Milliseconds With 0 Bytes Received". Is there anyone has this issue?

Storage node is currently off line for RAM replacement.
Before getting upset, take a look at your next billing date. You will notice that your billing cycle has not stared yet. This was done so as to work out any bugs without people filling out tickets. If you have made a ticket regarding Tokyo storage being down please close it, as you are not paying for the service yet and it should be back up after DC hands replace the RAM.

You most likely ordered it in a specific period of time where it wasn't meant to be ordered. In this case you can make a ticket, and the only solution we can provide is a cancellation and refund (after confirming you've moved your files first.) These were only meant to be activated originally for the ones specifically in backorder and those were extended.

Otherwise it's still technically possible this was missed, so once you make a ticket I'll let you know the exact scenario you're in.

Everyone else making tickets or asking about Tokyo storage, all I can offer you are refunds as well once you confirm you don't have data there. Otherwise if you want to keep it, the one month free will be removed if you prefer making tickets about it and we can just process it as normal and provide SLA credit instead.

At the very least please do check network status page always before creating an outage ticket.

For some reason the alert didn't go through for this one, I'll see what's going on.

[Edit] Yeah, it still shows as online on some places. Probably heavy packet loss and/or abuse, looking into it now. Overloading.

[Edit2] looks like it's an issue with the controller on the motherboard in some way, I was getting errors for disk, network, everything but disk looks healthy after reboot. Looking into it further but it's back up for now.

Abuser alert as well. IOPS fell significantly after maintenance.
Even typing in SSH feels choppy when latency is only about 4ms
(aside from NVMe cache issue. I didn't do fio test after as I don't want to add more load)

Yes, but I expect you will need to do so via ISO and create more then one partition

Wow that's great I didn't even know it's online! Looks like they completed maintenance but didn't update the ticket yet, just sent a Skype message that I missed. I'll fix networking here and verify the RAM after I sweep through all the tickets created about this node first.

It's running well so far, though we need a 10Gbps switch, I think that's the problem.

@VirMach I made an order and it wasn’t auto provisioned. Opened up a ticket and they said they ran out of capacity in NYC and offered to deploy in Atlanta but after I replied yes That works no one replied. Ticket #265711
