interesting, hope there might be some bf sales ;)

  • O shit

  • Must resist. temptation.

  • The E3-1230v6 + 16GB DDR4 + 2x450GB sounds really nice

  • If the disks were just 1TB bigger, this would be instabuy. 8TB just isn’t quite enough.

  • is the 250mbps at sys, a 1gbps shared with guaranteed 250mbps? or just 250mbps maximum?

    Ooh, that's an interesting prospect.

I currently have 2 D-1521, 64GB, 2 x 6TB machines that I use for my personal projects that are very nice - same price as the new D-1540s...

Probably will stick with what I have for now (value the extra space over the extra CPU power) - but is an interesting proposition.

Shame the Epyc machines have such small storage options, Would probably need at least 4 x 4 TB for them to be the upgrade I've been looking for.

  • 250 mb/s sucks!

    Thanked by 2mrclown fLoo
  • Screw you, i just ordered a binch of new idlers, just to run benchmarks and bullshit on

Are these the cheapest epyc systems around? Kinda looks like it at first glance.

  • ArkasArkas Member, Retired Moderator

I am the only one that finds them expensive (after taxes)?
    I guess I must be.

  • The SYS-2-SAT-32 has to be the best deal ever made, lucky bastards who got those!

The epyc deal is awesome but I can't justify the need for such powah.

Setup fees and the feeling that the only deals left aren't right for me are helping fight the urge to impulse buy.

If you're finding UK servers with this much storage anywhere else for the same price or less, please let me know where.
