Also got some nice freebies in Poland location,

    • Xeon D1521 instead of 1520
    • 2666MHz memory vs 2133mhz
    • enterprise grade hgst disks that have run 8k hours
    • Getting 800 down and ~490 up, nice :)

    Nice

And did you get kvm ip?

Doesn't look like it unfortunately, also no extra backup/ftp space. But that is totally fine :)

Running yabs right now - i'll post it later :D

  • Anyone knows if windows server OS can be installed on these servers.

    Thanks and greatly appreciated.

D-1521 controller supports up to 2133MHz so if it reports 2666MHz then its kinda weird lol

if you don't get free IPMI you can still use the given installer and check the box for individual settings, which allows a certain extend auf raid configuration. while this might not allow for / to be on raid 10 you could instead go with raid 1 during install and reshape via mdadm to raid 10 afterwards (possible to do that online, r1 > r0 >r10).

I'd suggest to install debian buster from their installer, adjust the partitioning to you wishes and then install proxmox on top, see: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_Buster

once you have that, you just need to add a bridge and give virtual mac addresses to you addon IPs. or add a nat bridge and forward ports to your guest (e.g. windows usually only needs one rdp port).

Depending on your knowledge you can also prepary the disks and completely bootstrap a Debian OS entirely from the rescue system or use qemu with disks attached and installation media.

For example I booted my SYS server from this offer with OVH rescue system and following the steps from the OpenZFS documentation I was able to install a fresh Debian 11 (bullseye) on a ZFS root filesystem. Just needed the IPMI to know that BIOS was configured to boot UEFI-only. :)

    https://openzfs.github.io/openzfs-docs/Getting Started/Debian/Debian Buster Root on ZFS.html

The documentation is based on Debian 10 but it applies to Debian 11 as well.
OVH rescue system even comes with ZFS kernel modules so you don't need to compile them in the rescue system. Debian 11 also includes OpenZFS 2.0.3 so you can skip the backports as well.

Obviously not the easiest setup but if you love Debian and ZFS it's definitely worth trying. :)

Great. Did you get free ipmi/ kvm in France?

Depending on your knowledge you can also prepary the disks and completely bootstrap a Debian OS entirely from the rescue system or use qemu with disks attached and installation media.

Yeah, you're right. With their useful Debian-based rescue system, we could install OS from iso faster than from their very-slow-speed IPMI.

That is allowed as long as both accounts is in the same region. Both account owners need to open the tickets with details of the server and account. Of cuz that takes few hours, days or a week+ as that depends on the region.
