Ah, so not internet, not mail, no phone. I get it, you need to write it by hand and deliver in person. Waiting for freight required the full attention and couldn't find half an hour to send an email.
Sounds like cociu
No, if you check my post history we recently acquired VPS customers from Anynode.
We also took over their rack in Miami so i've been busy consolidating customers, migrating managed customers into some blade units, helping with user migrations/etc on the BuyVM side, things like that.
It's fairly involved work as there's a lot of data to move around.
What's the rush though? Is the statute of limitations in Australia a weekend?
Francisco
@cociu what were the 12TB drives you posted for sale on the 8th?
Why weren't those drives used to bring at least a few customers back online?
Francisco
That's the scam.
Would be a good strategy, for sure. Like I said, I have no personal stake on this, so I think I'll just sit back and watch.
The truth is he's full of shit and has no real intention to sue me anyway.
No, I fully to if it isn't removed by the time I reach out to some firms next week.
Far as I've seen in AU laws the person must be given the chance to 'right the wrong'. Very fair. That means you could request the mods/admins remove the posts in question, and the case has no grounds to continue. Simple.
At the end of the day I want the posts removed as it's absolutely false. I'm not looking for an apology on these forums, or in writing, or in smoke signals.
Francisco
If you want the posts removed then flag them, I'm not changing my opinion just because you don't like it. If you believe it's so wrong, have them removed without my intervention. I have nothing to apologize to you for lol
I had one ticket open, not ten, and it's been deleted. Getting services back up is first come first serve? How does that make ANY sense when he doesn't email his customers and deletes the tickets!!??
I had paid for a backup for exactly this reason, and my data is gone anyway?
I had to hunt down this thread and check in every few days to find an update, because he couldn't be bothered to update his own customers?
Screw this company. Downtime is one thing, but apparently you have to be a psychic to get anything done.
All day long, you can comment on if he's being inept or malicious, but it doesn't change one fact:
I'll be lucky if I ever see any money from this guy, and that, by intention or not, makes him a crook.
Then I'll start my hunt next week.
The thread should get back on topic though.
If you'll be past 180+ days on Paypal in the next 2 weeks, open a hold/case. If he restores your service, close it.
Francisco
Right!
@Francisco I have seen way-way worse in here and never been troubled by it, only the fact I was not allowed to defend myself irked me. I think this is an over-reaction and will do you more harm than good.
That being said, I do enjoy a nice soap opera so I am on the fence, if fran wants to do that, his right, I would advice him not to, but can't say I won't be happy if he does it because I believe many people will learn a lot from it.
Seriously. I'm past my 180 day window with PayPal, but my credit card has protections - I'll feed looking into a charge back.
I'm glad I have a screenshot of my ticket going without a response for over a month to show them. If anyone else's tickets were removed and they didn't have screenshots, they may or may not have a tougher time.
I agree you had to be a psychic, There was no sarcasm in there.
I wouldn't go for a chargeback if I were you. I would rather have the service back, but to each their own.
You hide behind a fake name, fake details, 9 proxies, etc. Go ahead, put your full name/address/business details in the Cest Pit along side your gongshow with jar
Until you do that, it's not 'far far worse'.
Anyway, lets not derail please. By all means, bring it to PM.
Were you within the 180 days before the fire nation attacked?
Francisco
If the services have little chance of coming back (based on cociu's poor handling of communication and selling off of in-use customer assets), then @vibhakti is unfortunately, not wrong in considering a chargeback.
@Maounique I don't care about the service - I want my data back. If I can't have that, I'll have to re-gather it and that takes enough time that I don't want to bother with him. I now have a replacement service from a more reputable provider (won't say who, for fear of being caught in the crossfire) ready to go.
@Francisco A+, love the reference.
@stevewatson301 I'd consider the backup that I paid for to be services not rendered. I only went with it in the first place because of the backup.
I had an on-site copy of the data, but the hard drive died. I'm getting ready to start pulling out all the old archive dvds and reading them, uploading them, and unzipping them (again). The code that was running on the server is safe thanks to vcs.
Back to the issue at hand, knowing people and all (I am writer) I can bet about 3:1 that
1. He will refund the people which want a refund;
2. Restore some boxes albeit I am pretty sure he won't expand the service;
3. He will continue to have customers from here, whether he will have the provider tag or not. People will repost his offers for free.
This is assuming the admins allow it.
If they don't, then you can probably assume that the whole company collapses.
He has/had somewhat of a following on /r/seedboxes or whatever it was, but if he stops those offers, he's not got anything to offer.
I hope he refunds people. I really hope he takes the $34k he gets from the IP's and processes refunds for those due.
Francisco
I wouldn’t be betting if I were you. Like seriously you’d lose based on the current direction of things. Cociu is exiting, owes $60k, has been lying to buy time for quite a bit of time, etc. Don’t be delusional. I might be wrong but seriously, consider the facts on the current situation.
That's not Fran's point though. His point is, some random user called "Maounique" being called a pedo or whatever doesn't hurt because people can't find out about your identity easily, apart from "some random employee at Prometeus". With him, people know where he lives and what his full name is, and a lie like this can spread very easily and too much for it to become a problem for him in real life.
This thread will continue to stay up thanks both to haters and fanbois even after the whole incident is closed at least for as long as the court procedures will continue. Since the Ryzen offer has been reposted here and admins had nothing against it, there is little scope for making a new rule to block that in the future. Not impossible, I have seen worse, but I doubt the current management will go that path given the (admittedly limited) experience I have so far.
The company will not collapse if it goes past this point (at least not for the foreseeable future). He will learn.
Come on, in the era of Q no lawsuit or sentence will ever change anything, once a pedo, always a pedo, no matter how much the deep state tries to hide the facts. If he is afraid he will be lynched because of this... maybe there is something else where that kind of activism should be directed at.
Anyone who availed @cociu's first-come first-serve offer of rebuilding VPSes?
It was me lol, I was posting his offers over there, I am not even affiliated with Cociu lol. I am dumb bro, I really though it is great value for the price, offers root to install any software like Plex, etc. and I thought to share it with community.
Of course you will...
I opened a ticket for it but no reply on it yet
Cociu said monday again
So perhaps we get a new message on thursday in 3 weeks and after 50 pages of useless user fights.
How immediate was it after cociu's announcement? Because, I don't see much of a problem with adding an update "We've considered your request and will be rebuilding your VPS soon" (for Borta's definition of soon).
Let's see if the VPSes get created after all.
