Wow I'm really shocked at all the people not using vi.
vim > vi.
"edit" on Windows XP ;-)
Nano on servers
I have been using vi before linux so I stuck with it.
I work on AIX mostly, we use vi.
I like WinSCP. It's amazingly simple and easy to understand. GUI for the win!
Nano has search. Or you mean vi doesn't have search? o_O (I don't know how to use vi).
nano if present.
vi(m)
Vi, nano, notepad++, Kate. They all have their strengths, and each is best suited for particular usage. Playing favourites to a wrench when a socket can also be useful is just dumb elitism.
Nano and Notepad++
I use nano, love it its very easy and simple and does it job well...
Vim, notepad++. If you're hooked enough there's also a gVim distro for windows.
pico (early redhat days), now nano.
Fully learning vi is on my to-do list
nano, Kate, Notepad++
I downloaded this one, but doesn't have SFTP support u_u
Anyone knows an alternative to Notepad++ with SFTP and for Linux? (Wine has some issues running it)
you can use fuse to bring sftp support to every application
vim on the terminal, Sublime Text 2 on the desktop - such an awesome editor.
Yes, but isn't the best solution. When your connection drops your editor start to freeze.
Some java editors came with decent sftp clients (but bring other problems I know)... :-)
Like Eclipse, destroying the encoding of some files ¬_¬
Kate?
vim is amazing
@tux
Orly? Sorry, I am not familiar with KDE stuff u_u
nano
Generally Nano and Notepad++ for me.
I like vim( or vim-enhanced).
jEdit have a plugin called SshConsole that seems to support to edit file through sftp (never tried, however).
Youngster!
Real men use pico :P
Ty steve, I will look about it
