Time for someone to buy the old CPanel rights when it was split off from VDI back in the 90's, and start developing it as a new fork of CPanel.
.
Yes, why not?
What about the rest of 200 who have only 10 accounts? Volume makes the win.
I think you are missing the point @AnthonySmith is making.
Whether it's the case or not, under your offerings it's TECHNICALLY possible (as you advertise).
Wait a minute, why the fuck are you even here posting, were you not banned for having multiple accounts and shilling?
They removed that tweet:
Too late for that.
I will like this challange as in this case I will have 100 full servers.
What makes you guys prefer DA over, for example, Virtualmin? Features? Support?
And what will happen to my Knownhost managed cPanel VPS? And my 3-year Hostmantis cPanel reseller account? I feel with those who have cPanel as part of their business model!
Now you are DEFINITELY missing the point..
You would have a full server at a loss of thousands of dollars because you sell unlimited accounts for less than the actual cost of it.
I see, you are a prize idiot then.
@ZotiMediaGroup but your incremental cost of goods sold was ZERO before today- Basically you could cram your server with resellers until it cried and died. Now your incremental cost is $.10 per reseller and $.10 per each of their resellers and $.10 per their customers. so if one alpha has 10 resellers with 10 clients each. your cost is 10.10 just for cpanel. So keep offering unlimited- you go broke. Unlimited is either dead or whoever offers it is going to fail.
I think he understands, sort of.
It's just that he is utterly desperate for clients.
Yep indeed, I guess I am lucky, I only spend the last few months perfecting things to really start pushing shared hosting so I am not in a bad situation yet, I perhaps lost a few weeks worth of my time and I may end up loosing $1000 or so in accounts I may need to refund since I started really pushing things a few weeks ago.
Nope, I do really understand your point.
If you can see my comment am talking about +$200 - $300 per server with the new pricing. Lets say we do a nett win of 2k per server means we got 10% price increase.
If the math of Anthony hapends to me, I will be really happy.
That is partner pricing, regular is $0.20
There will always be tons of stuff missing. Unsupported features, unsuported features within a feature. I am assuring you i'd be a hassle for someone like me with many websites and some of them using cPanel features that might or might not be avalible on another panel.
Still interested to see @HostMantis take on this.
Hey @AnthonySmith are going to pull out offering shared hosting totally?
Correct, though still pretty bad for companies with a bunch of resellers.
Well, reseller hosting is dead with this.
Some hosts are gonna get burned really hard when some kids decide to abuse this.
Should I buy the alpha beta gamma reseller from D3wlance?
Do it. Create unlimited accounts.
Or just a normal reseller, same effect. Or the Alpha and give out free reseller accounts to LET users.
What's all the shit about?
Just put a limit on the reseller accounts, plan the density per server and that's it. Oh yeah your profit margin will decrease but that's about it.
Stop the over sensitive bitching drama about cPanel price increase.
Summer hosts will die, the actual serious web hosts will survive.
The end is not nigh!
Sounds like a plan
I imagine you don't run a hosting company.
Time for ISPConfig to rise once again
Stopped Shared/Reseller years ago...
I guess mxroute didnt lock in their vendor pricing before offering 10 year plans
