does that shitty thanks vanilla plugin really use GET and not POST for modifying actions

Yep.. you can probably find an excuse to have someone follow a link and thank yourself.

I have never in discussions about servers so often read the requirement „windows“ as in this thread. And i am pretty sure that 90% of the buyers would be better suited with a different OS.

You should only be running Windows on your server if you absolutely, positively must be running Windows on your server.

You are too smart for your own good. Do you remember how you got a title "Member without signature"? Next time you will become a member without bbcode/hyperlink too.

  • one of my vps is down for 6 hours, virmach support is very slow.

i think its time to switch back to ramnode

Zerotier, connect only through the private network.

That’s interesting - i was pointed to zerotier recently by a collegue.
So you basically have RDP service available only within ZT? And probably others (SMB,..) as well?
    Maybe a dumb question, but:
Did you do win firewall rules for that or can you bind the service only to the VPN adapter or how did you do that?

And do you really trust that setup (after all, it’s still windows network stack takng in the packets in the first place?)

You can just bind rdp to the private IP. This is VPS. IF your ZT down. Just console in SOLUSVM, to get it.

7 hours downtime and no one updating my ticket. are there guys seriously in this business?

Once Zerotier is installed, all machines are in a private subnet. I turned used firewall rules to block off many if not all requests to the "Public" interface and set Zerotier virtual interface as a "Private" interface. So the services are still listening to 0.0.0.0:3389 but windows firewall blocks requests from the public ip. I'm not using SMB at the moment but anything is possible.

There are a few areas of security concerns but whatever.

did you try reinstalling in the control panel solusvm? If it's the default install; it's a mess and the reinstall option in the manage product area is a mess too. If you have windows; it'll probably take longer too.

  • reinstall is not a solution unless they ask me to.

as customer, i just want to get my right to get info about services i paid for. i don't believe virmach got 4 star review on trustpilot

No. First few pages of this thread, posted by VirMach, in plain text. Not an egg, just a promo.

Hah! Might have missed it then. So there's still 2 unconquered easter eggs in the wild: the lifetime SSD32G and another unknown one?

  • virmach 8 hours downtime!
    no update on my ticket.

Year* of SSD32G, already claimed. The unknown one should be still there, but I have a feeling it's broken or it's some twisted thing.

no idea. i am waiting for the answer from virmach staff, their panel said the vps is online but i can't login via ssh and no response from ip address.

Are you able to login via VNC from the panel?

and no response from ip address.

So it's not responding to pings?

No, that's a different one; that's the more recent pastebin easter egg.

The lifetime SSD32G easter egg was posted waaay back, together with the coupon for free 3 months of any product with @VirMach and the yet unknown (?) easter egg.

And for anyone who's more interested in a recurring discount, one (last?) easter egg.

There's also a second easter egg for one single free SSD32G for life but it's going to be hard. I'll leave the promotion active for a year and let you guys know if anyone got it. The last one is just mostly to make you guys go insane.
