Oh boi. What a deal. Aruba has been put to shame. It's time for iKoula to glory.
You know what to do: https://www.ikoula.com/en/public-cloud
In the control panel it says "100 mbps", but it looks like it's a gigabit connection.

In the control panel it says "100 mbps", but it looks like it's a gigabit connection.
Incoming is, outbound is capped at 100mbps.
does it go back to regular pricing after a year?
I wouldn't recommend this company.
Care to elaborate why?
it's a shit show. Just google ikoula review. web panel has problems. support has problems. It's never fixed.
Have you used them personally?
I have. One reason I don't work with a french provider anymore. Go on ahead. Try it.
Yes
What's wrong with French providers?
Looks like as long as you renew it you keep that price. I am not 100% sure though. This is their TOS about that offer:
https://www.ikoula.com/sites/default/files/images/conditions_offre_20ans_en.pdf
The promotion text says its limited to 12 months.
I agree that their service is shit. However, French providers are good. Eg: Online, OVH. There are always good and bad, you know. It doesn't depend on the countries.
I bought this last weekend. The panel fails 95% of the time to create your VM and once you do get one spun-up, you run the risk of getting really old hardware (L5520s) but you also sometimes get put on really new stuff. So I'd recommend you keep killing and starting new instances until you get new hardware. (only problem is you will run into long periods where you cant spin anything up.)
I thought I can give it a try just 1.19€/m for me. But I cannot even register since my email provider is banned tho it is one of the major ones in germany (web.de)
@Ikoula
... then, should the service not be renewed....
I read it like, if you renew you keep that price. But I agree, it's not totally clear.
@JoeMerit
Ended up just staying on the E5520 since it was getting plain annoying to deploy broken instances
This was my experience as well when I tested their VPS brand at one point. You get "what you pay for" I guess, but don't expect much more. Also, it is all Cogent if I remember correctly, so you get the bandwidth mix to match the price as well.
my 2 cents.
Cheers!
Do not choose iKoula.
Only valid for the first year.
This offer appeared more than a month ago.( May have exceeded 1,000 people
They are very confused.
When this offer appeared, the VPS speed limit was 10Mbps (staff acknowledged), and later they said that there is no speed limit.
The panel is very bad, and the deleted VPS may still incurring costs.
After more than a month, they suspended the accounts of many people (I am one of them, no abuse and violation of TOS behavior.), no backup, no reason.
This was a very unpleasant experience, but fortunately I did not store important data.
If you insist on using it, there may be some inexplicable expenses waiting for you.
Ok I will correct myself and say I do not and will not have any french servers in france.
I have to ask: how many of them are chinese accounts?
Good question, it seems that Chinese customers are not allowed to exist, right?
Based on what I've seen from french providers, yes
So what does this have to do with iKoula?
Does Online also reject Chinese people?
iKoula also did not reject the Chinese.
Is this your discrimination?
Yes, I'm obviously discriminating. I just seem to remember online 403ing most of chinese IPs on their site.
If this is just your discrimination, it makes no sense to talk to you.
Because you can use it to refute any problem.
All we know what is the chinese behaiver. Not all , but most. There's nothing to argue about.
(Bie diu ren le , xi xi shui ba!)
Great, you are a Chinese who represents the majority of Chinese. (
丟人現眼的是您,先生。It’s you, sir. Please pay attention to yourself.
Ok... so we know french people are racist and this thread is really about chinese racism. what a spin. never expected it.
Finally, what I am talking about is iKoula's problem. Please don't involve the Chinese issue. This has nothing to do with it.
