So, that 4.99EUR offer from Servdiscount, could not be delivered.

So they offered instead 9.99EUR, 32GB SSD + 2TB iSCSI.

They also tried to trick me in, that I have ordered an additional 500GB SATA, which even the invoices shows, thats not the case.

However, they left me the option for 4.99EUR, 32GB SSD + 1TB iSCSI.

Not at first place, but after I correct them about the price.

So yea, lets see if they deliver.

    I'm sorry, i've got the 4.99EUR machine.
But it comes with an local 1TB HP enterprise disk instead of iSCSI.

    Wow, that's very great!

So it's 1TB local or iSCSI?

Apparently, it was a price miscalculation, they wont deliver it to me for 4.99.

If my money is not back in 24 hours, they get a chargeback + bad rating.

What a shithole, will be my second chargeback this year, neat.

Ended up with a paypal dispute, no server or refund received.

    Lets see.

Someone mentioned Terrahost.no on another thread, I noticed they have servers around $25 (yeah it's not under $20 I know)...has anyone used them before and can say how their experience was?

    I can't understand this.
I've never had problems with servdiscount. I receive my servers and they work always fine.
Even this 4,99€ server rocks 900mbit up and down easily.
    Gbps for 4,99€, I can't complain.

Well, as far as I know, multiple people ordered this server.

As I got told, it was a billing issue, aka someone did put the server for a low price on the website.

The thing is, everyone who ordered this server, as I am aware, got a confirmation of the order. Which means they accept your order.

So, they are then bound to deliver, since they accepted it.

Apparently no one checks the incoming orders on plausibility.

What I think, is after they deployed a few orders, they noticed oh there is a mistake.
Look at the website, they got the server with the same specs available to buy.

It seems to be they stopped deploying these orders, instead, they contact us, and offered us a other server.

Which costs double the price, the ticket had also multiple errors in it.

Until today, no server and no money.

Even that they told me, they will deliver it for 4.99.

  • @graphic @Neoon I have had servDiscount and Webtropia for a while (same company). The servers had a slow hard disk, because they use network linked hard disks instead of physical, dedicated ones.

I had two servers with the VAT shifted because it was on my business name. 3 months later they told me I had to pay 30 EUR of tax. I told them I am a business and then got told they lost my proof and so they had to invoice me.

Lucky enough, I could prove them they accepted the proof a few months earlier. I ended up with a waived bill. Anyway, servDiscount has so-so servers and their billing department is very incapable.

I know that servDiscount is on Kimsufi level, but apparently it seems to be even a bit lower.
Lets see if they respond tomorrow to the dispute.

They will. A very annoying billing department employee will tell you you’ll still have to pay the invoice, because they made one.

Also filing a dispute might be enough to ban you from their services. Be careful ;)

They could yea, but I do not give a single fuck, if they kick me or not.

They've certainly changed their offers since last week: https://servdiscount.com/en.html

Arguably, the prices are still pretty good for what you get, but now nothing is under €25.

I see. So you think that they'll offer servers for under €10 again? (I haven't followed servdiscount's practices.)

Are you sure its local? I messured the latency of my "local" 500GB HDD, its iSCSI.

    Also, apparently its a 2.5TB MM0500GBKAK

Ok then mine is indeed local, it's really fast. Roughly about 175mb/s.

HostSailor is one of the worst dedicated server providers which provide horrible flexibility, power outages, lag, and no security for your website at extremely unaffordable prices. HostSailor presents managed and dedicated server hosting solutions for all your business needs. You can know about the package and the services provided in the package, once you signup. Different business has different needs when it comes to web hosting. HostSailor is a scam without all the services that are necessary for hosting while sacrificing on the quality of products and services.
