For those still ordering - how are you doing so? All I get is error pages.

You cant order them anymore. That's why I'm looking for people who are willing to transfer their server to me if they don't want it. I'll pay Full month. Even after a Week Testing ^^

No... I mean the original price of SP-64-S (with 2x2T) is 99.99 EUR but this offer has 4x2T and only cost 38.65 EUR (both not include VAT)

You all forget its 250 Mbit cap which is not at normal OVH servers. Thats the point where you can also see its not a "discount for 3 months".

I've setup bare debian now with LUKS and raid 10 .. still dont know if i go for proxmox or if i go by console only and do all by myself (like i did before) :) Any suggestions?

Goal: KVM / IPv6 / LIBVIRT / LXC (private not owned by uid:0)

So far i did it everytime by hand including VPN to get these into my server-farm. What are the pros for Proxmox if i can do all that stuff by myself and wont resell?

After initial Problems prox works really Well for me LXC

Same here. Installed Prox on all 6 machines now, just finished setting up the vmbr0 and gone into final restart. Raid build complete, now gonna configure the firewall and add ipv6 and nat :)

Encryption is working fine, went with Raid 10, 32 GB /boot, 32 GB Swap (if 2 ram banks fail) and fully encrypted swap and /data partition.

@netomx can do things that most of us cannot even imagine. Incredible things. He is the first person in the world who installed FreeBSD on a Taco. He ran 50 Tacos off one modified Burrito. He built a Burrito cluster that hosts parts of Netflix' infrastructure in the meantime. Just some examples... Not even talking about what he can do with a Fajita. Crazy and absolutely astounding! But never give him a router. He will brick it. ;)

    F u man! ahahahahahahahahahaah I needed a laugh, thanks!

Haha! I am such a dork...!

First of all, OVH support (Accountants) answered quick. It took just 1.5 hours for a reply. Which is quite cool.

And here is the "dork" part: She friendly explained to me that the "14 days cancellation" clause does not apply to me. Which is completely right. I ordered the server using my company's account (which I forgot). Those 14 days are a right made for consumers, not for companies doing trade with each other. So no refund for me. Absolutely okay. But I will have to work on my impulsive personality disorder. ;)

And no: Sorry, but I will not transfer this server to anyone. I was informed that I need to provide a physical copy of my passport and a written form to OVH to do so. That is too much hassle for this. What a pity. Transferring a server is often just a matter of some clicks at the competition.

    Damnit.

    :(

Why do you need such a big /boot partition?

  • I asked for refund. Now I see in the displayOrder.cgi that my order has been cancelled, but nothing on my Paypal account.

I don't know if this promo was an error on their US system and they are cancelling orders, or my refund is in process. Just waiting to see what happens.

Does anyone in BHS has been cancelled too?

When you go for Raid10 you'd loose the difference in GB if you go 1 GB /boot and 32 GB Swap because raid stays at the lowest (biggest) partition. Thats why ;)

  • Okay my work was useless, i cant use vRack to get Multicast for Proxmox Cluster working, sad. Ofcourse i could go with Tinc and VPN the servers together but then i'd sit on one freaking interface for everything which does not satisfy me.

Conclusion: Reinstalling all systems and go with KVM / LXC console only again, as always.

Stupid that I must be verified at OVH when I have an active Kimsufi account with lots of servers. But I ordered via de .ie link and since I'm from Norway, no VAT for me :)

Aren't you part of the European Union? If so, shouldn't you pay VAT?

If you asked for the refund they probably cancelled your order and going to refund you.
    Mine is still "In progress".

Do you see hostname of your server on Invoice or just *001
Normally you can see you dedicated server hostname
On Server preparation and set up

This time I see just *001 so wondering what's going on

    @GalaxyHostPlus it's exactly like yours, *001.

It may mean that the server has not been attached yet because there is no availability.

At least the order itself is not "cancelled", I opened a support ticket asking for few more info as well.

  • having *001 is okay, seen it before

mine is as well *001 , they´ve asked for documents like id and a copy of the credit card with only the first letters and last one are visible, i´ve send the documents and fifteen minutes later i´ve got a response that the verification is complete.

  • Some one unhappy with the Server? :D I think i should stop asking xD and wait for a response :D

Meh... :D Cause if someone want to cancel the Server I'll take it and I'll talk with OVH to transfer the Server ^^

  • I called them via Skype. They told me I have to wait 7 days to get the money on my Paypal account.

I'm already missing the server :(

What a shame that your server is in Canada Q_Q

  • Apparently I accidentally ordered another server when I was looking at the terms and conditions yesterday - haven't paid yet, how long before OVH cancel the order?

  • @nekki you should have that date (expiration date) in the order link that OVH sent you.

Do I loose my server after 24 hours if they can't manage to validate me before that?
They have all my data at Kimsufi, but I sent in all again to OVH. No response, no link to pay, just to the order.
