The CPUs are throttled per VPS to prevent abuse, you will receive a total of 3.40 GHz across 4 CPU cores which is plenty.

@wlsiew said: RAID? Can I use it for backup storage? Thanks :)

Yes it is RAID10 and you can use it for storing backups.

Got one. Initial benchmark here (LA) - CPU is 4 cores of a E3-1240v2 throttled at 850mhz, vSwap is 0kb:

    ioping (5 runs):

    Yes you can.

Let us know if you have any questions!

  • @fan: seems you got a better one. heck even 0.216 MHz more CPU and MUCH better I/O.

Download speed from Softlayer, Washington, DC: 56.2MB/s
    I/O speed : 41.5 MB/s

I won't say I'm happy with the I/O, but their network seems awesome.

@HalfEatenPie said: happy with the I/O

Perhaps we are on different nodes. There may be many new VPS's being provisioned now so it may get better later I think.

  • @fan: well there are 3 locations that the promotions apply to. So the different nodes is a high possibility.

  • is the price recurring? :D

  • Is there Any offer for Europe locations?

  • @juan said: is the price recurring? :D

on order page written : $21.00 per year - Guaranteed Lifetime Price Lock -- Price NEVER increases after you secure your order.

  • @HalfEatenPie said: I won't say I'm happy with the I/O, but their network seems awesome.

Perhaps others are benchmarking their newly created VMs on the same node. If it ever becomes a problem, just drop us a ticket and we'll look into it.

ah.. i was also looking for changeover, i got the $12/yr recently... :(

  • do you have 100mb.bin on the three locations?
so i can test which DC suits me best

  • @fan said: It's running pretty well right now, hope it can continue to run like this. :)

Give it 72 hours when all the benchmarkers jump on the nodes and we'll see.

  • @FTNChris said: but you can purchase it as an additional plan to your current vps.

    How kind of you.

Seems like a good idea, have them locked in for the year then tell them the upgrade cost.
