What about a low end E3/L5630 - and around $25. We all know you can do it @MarkTurner
@markturner Dual L5630s 24GB of RAM 1TB HDD and a handful of IP addresses I think they have a lot of people on this package. They include 3IPs and IPMI on a 4th IP
We did an offer like that for E3-1225 about 3 months ago. But unfortunately not repeatable, we cleared all that stock.
What's the price?
$37.95/mo
My servers have come back up.
The IP for my old server has just come back up
Server is back up - some are saying their servers were power cycled but mine was only a network drop.
Ok so assuming we can get to that price point or lower, does that work?
@MarkTurner I will be moving to @QPS as they've always been good to me. Delimiter I find Steve ignores 80% of his emails. Thanks though.
I would be willing to move over if you could get to that price point.
If there is enough momentum then I'll try to get the price agreed.
@agoldenberg Thanks for the confidence and for your business.
@MarkTurner, I was looking at your signature actually. That E5420 kicks my Opteron 1381's ass for the same price. I may PM you later.
I am not sure where these O1381's originally came from, they were never really that popular.
@MarkTurner any deal that can match quadix Dual x5650 offer?
No one warned that this would happen ever. Then people said things like "I don't care the service is great!" Well yeah, it always is...until it isn't.
The volume drive guys are super nice and friendly, I'd have a beer with them any day. I would never trust them to run the network for something production again (Catalyst ran on them in 2011). Anyone can do fine until something goes wrong, their weakness is reaction when something goes wrong, and also in having the proper network redundancy. It's nothing personal, it's just that they don't invest heavily enough in their network.
So remember, when you want cheap dedis...OVH
What was their offer?
It comes down to volume. If enough people want to move L5630 then we'll get pricing support, same with X5650. But if there isn't enough volume, its going to be difficult
Uhhhhhmmm! There are few other options than OVH
OVH isnt really for the US market
Also delimiter
Dual X5650 48GB Ram 250GB SSD 30TB @1Gbps with $47.95
Why ? what u mean ?
I think OVH will be more ready for the US market when they get their new proper American DC open sometime next year
How many IP?
3 default IP.
Since the management shakeup, don't be too sure that will be happening anytime soon. A lot of focus has been turned to making profit rather than expansion.
/29 allocated?
Lets see if there is some volume interest then I can push on this my end.
/29 allocated with 5 usable IP cost extra $5
3 IPs available would still be /29:
1.1.1.0 Network
1.1.1.1 Gateway
1.1.1.2 Server
1.1.1.3 KVM (I understand QuadIX assign one of the IPs to KVM)
1.1.1.4 Available
1.1.1.5 Available
1.1.1.6 Available
1.1.1.7 Broadcast
So they include a /29 with the server from what I understand.
