[TRIAL] BuyVM needs people to help test vswap
Hello everyone,
We're looking for a bunch of people willing to help us test out how vswap operates on our nodes. We've setup a test node and are giving away 20 - 30 1GB vm's for free for the better part of a month.
- 1GB guaranteed RAM
- 1GB virtual SWAP
- 60GB RAID10 storage
- 3000GB monthly transit
- 1 x IPV4 & 16 x IPV6
Please be aware that any abuse (ddos, spam, etc) from this VPS will lead to termination and it will be held against your whole account with us.
We fully expect bug reports of any issues you're spotting and both positive & negative feedback over how vswap is performing for you.
Please also be aware that there is no SLA provided with these VM's. The main reason for this testing is to help us find out how stable vswap is. While others have reported issues with the kernel, they were all using newer CPU's which we gather are likely just extremely picky.
If you're willing to lend a hand, please sign up at:

Hmm, now what to use this box for?
Are we allowed to stress test the box? Or is this more for checking/identifying problems?
stress testing is fine
We're trying to trigger any problems so if pounding on it causes that, we need to know that.

Just signed up. Your Order Number is: 2488926789
No coupon code?
j/k
Well, I normally don't sub to these trials, $1 first month and so, but I am interested on these RHEL 6 boxes n_n, so, signed up
EDIT:
Oh, instant provision...
Ahm,
LOL.... reloading now
Signed up, will try running Minecraft on it. :P
Couldn't resist..
Holy crap lol
TNT Benchmarking? That's what I'd use it for if I got an OK (what better way to test your systems then have one user go crazy with the TNT!)
That's what I did with Hostigation's vswap test, and it's what I'm doing with this one.
(tntabuse.d3vm.net if you want to do some testing yourself)
Lol, out of stock.
Signed up, expect some C mallocs and testing with python
That's perfectly fine max & dmm
@Yomero - This kernel includes some additional adjustments & tweaks we've added so we hope to get a lot more nodes closer to that figure
You should be able to see spikes in the 500MB/sec range.

Anthony will throw some more up tomorrow, probably another 30.

Welp, crash #1 has already occured
Francisco

I got one of the devs on AIM right now and i'm going to forward a bug report when it blows out next. Next crash i'll try rolling back a version.
Francisco
Damn, I miss all the fun
So far this development kernel hasn't crashed yet.
I'm currently waiting for more abuse to pop up to see if we can push it over the edge again but it seems @dmmcintyre3 isn't awake anymore for more TNT bombs :P
I'll likely have Anthony load another 30 units in the morning for those interested.

@Francisco : I would love to get one account to give it a try, run a few tests (Benchmarks etc)
I need more than just a 'few' tests
Pretty much, if you have some large work you'd like to get done (encoding, etc) that you don't want to do at home/on production stuff? this would be ideal.
Francisco
@Francisco : Encoding = FFMPEG ? Sure I Could Give that a try !
@Francisco emerging world (in Gentoo)?
@tux - Hah, that'd be good. That actually might be an OK idea.
@speedbus - yep.
I need try one, but out of stock .
Install Handbrake and have some fun I think I'll encode some stuff for my iPhone and iPad.
