Who care the old deals. We need the new ones :)

  • Look at the server in the right rack - it looks like Dedibox SC gen 3. Looking very similar to the HP servers but normally the disk latch is on the right, here is on the left, so it's probably a whole server - 12 servers per one 3U.

    Looks expensive af

  • The only 2016 boxes I see are the ST12 and ST24. Am I missing something? Or, the offers haven't been released yet?

  • He said "Today" for when asked when the new 2016 offer released so we have to wait a few hours.

  • Maybe the SC will get 4-core Atom Avoton instead of Via ;)

  • So excited!

Well new LowendOffers, but eh Crappy Atom for 9EUR + 20EUR Setup fee.

The new personal range is online.. baiscally it's avoton only.

Why do they do that? Scaleway is way more attractive, except for the HDD space...

  • Released !!!

  • Not worth it IMO.

Scaleway is better, they might want to focus on that market? Or maybe they just want oles to sell more kimsufi. ;)

  • not so crazy

  • mov3mov3 Member

Scaleway is better than new line.

  • It's awesome. 2,5 Gbps link WOW ! Installing OS on my XC SSD 2016.

  • The only problem I see is SATA2, we were having SATA3 on XC SSD 2015.

  • They are almost sold out !

  • Got one SSD, I have too many dedis from online till now :-(

Enjoy it while it lasts, Online.net CEO just said in the french IRC channel that they will see "how it goes" .. about the 1gbps guaranteed BW.

    No power-loss protection on those.

In speedtests I only get around 150 Mbps up from my box. So much for 1 Gbps guranteed.

(Downloading a file from this server with another one looks better, more like 400 Mbps. Still nowhere near 1 Gbps)

I don't see which uses would make the need for an ssd with that kind of CPU. Can anyone lighten me?

edit: the 2.5 Gbs bandwidth sounds great though if you can really burst to that much

    Thx

  • They seem to add new servers to suit the high demand ;)

Databases, web server, faster running OS, mail queue etc. With HDD and tons of small files it was always the bottleneck. The SC of course is a bit too slow, but XC is completely fine.

Also please note one thing the SSD's are more durable than these notebook HDD's.
