the transfer code works , used it now 
I used it to transfer, unfortunately I also just learned of register.com's absurd policy of getting an EPP code;
I used them to grab a .net at 0.99USD, in retrospect certainly not worth it.
This indeed is absurd to the core !

@jkr1711 I didn't bother ordering one cause I don't need one. Do you get that when trying to checkout or putting your address in? Use a fake address maybe?

the .de domain (of course) is only for people living in Germany/Austria/Switzerland.
So i guess you can transfer the domain later as it is registered to your name, but can't use it if you're not from those nations.
i think more than an address u will also need a german IP and a real german phone number to verify via sms ?
So is it illegal to have on if I do not live in Germany/Austria/Switzerland?

One question, is Namecheap a good registrar? I'm considering moving my domains from InternetBS but i'm not really sure. Is whois included when renewing domains?
@gsrdgrdghd Yeah, I think in my opinion they're the best domain registrar. Have 4 domains with them, not had a single problem. WHOIS privacy is free for everyone, no exceptions I believe

nope, not free, but you can usually find a coupon to get $1USD/year for WhoisGuard.
