  • How to install Windows on this server?
How to get into rescue mode (netboot)? and run wget -O- 'http://ktd.joodle.nl/KS2012R2.gz' | gunzip | dd of=/dev/sda

Go to Manage. Click the Rescue button. I booted into the first option, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. When it's done, the Rescue button will turn into a Normal Boot button. Simple as that.

Make sure you enter sudo -i prior to the wget command.

I have 2012 running like a champ with a Minecraft server on one of them. Extremely impressed for the price...anything more and I'd be greedy.

Has anyone got Joodle's Server 2008R2 image installed? Doesn't seem to be working for me so must be a driver issue somewhere.

  • @sc754 : could you please give us the updated template? thanks :)

    Kidechire Dedibox For Sale!

    UPDATE: 13 left.
I will keep 5 for my personal use.

    FAQ:
Hurry! Get you own Kidechire Dedibox now! Price might go up to $20/box soon.

AFAIK they said me people cannot resell or transfer any dedi so I cannot get a dedi from anyone transferred to my account. I should get the whole account so that I can have the access .

For anyone trying to sell/buy these servers, even together with the account, keep in mind that the personal details of the account such as the first/last name and country are not changeable. You will have have issues renewing the "bought" server, as name on CC will not match the name on the account anymore.

Not that I support reselling those to make a profit, but any bank will auth any CC charge with a wrong name if the owner wants. That's the case in Spain at least.

  • The network card on my kimsufi ks-1 and these looks the same. I am guessing the joodle's templates would work without any modification.

Oh, so then you are supposed to lie about "name on card" when making the payment? In effect committing a credit card fraud vs. online.net? Don't be surprised if the account get banned, or if you'll be requested to send in documents proving your name on the account. Especially since a whole bunch of folks from online.net including the CEO read this very thread right now.

    if the owner wants.

How does that work? "Hello, bank? Please from now on authorize any charges which say John. H. Whatever, instead of my real name. Yeah don't worry, nothing fishy about that whatsoever."

  • It's better to buy it directly rather than the resellers unless the company transfers the server to your account directly.

You need the PIN code (either unique or from a codes card you get from the bank) to authorize the purchase.

Is any way to install Centos6 (or Centos5) on this server?

Install CentOS 7 and downgrade packages until it's CentOS 6 or the server stops working.

I pointed urlwatch at their offer page in the hope of more availability and just saw it change from "Availability on Request" to "Victim of its success".

which windows image do you use? I've test that few time, using joddle images, but no luck.

You can pay an invoice generated for a different individual and that's not credit card fraud at all. Not that I did it in this specific case, since I got one of the servers yesterday.

Not likely since online.net doesn't know if the name matches or not. Worst would be a transaction not authorized by the processor.

Believe it or not, the bank will be ok about this and most likely you will not even need to let them know. I have done this in it past, no problem at all.

    it appears really ended, lol

In any case, the country is still not changeable. Trivial to detect if the user is logging in and paying with a CC issued in a different country and ask for verification if they do.

  • Koding.com VM never works for me. And Online.net is out of stock. Hell I have to mess my laptop now.

  • Meh', I could have, but I didn't need it...

Good deal though, wonder what OVH will do.

OVH should have a lot of Atom 230, Celeron 220 and similar hardware. I wonder if they're going to simply junk those...

  • The dedicated server market is dying? Really? It went from cheap shared hosting ("$1/mo for hosting?? That's ridiculous, they're throwing money away. Too cheap!!!") to cheap VPS hosting ("$15/yr for 128MB RAM? they obviously won't last long" - 90% of WHT on BuyVM about 3 years ago) and now it's all about super cheap dedicated servers :)

Le serveur dedié se meurt face au Cloud .. // The dedicated server is dying face the Cloud ..

So they think an appropriate response is... their crappy OpenVZ VPSes. Loooool.

Not that I think this one-time crazy special warrants any response. But pointing to their OpenVZ product, seriously?

Yeah, with guaranteed restarts at least twice a month and heavy I/O throttle.
