My VPS is surprisingly online for over 15 days already.

NODE2, in the past it always went down at Sunday.

  • Just if someone interested, my vps uptime can be viewed here :

    @vedran exactly...

Anyway you have more chances to get it if you use your own email and not from free email providers like gmail. I got my login details that way :)

    Loads more faster now.

Well, I guess you can not expect for more than that from a free vps..

I expect less tbh and I am afraid it will go worse, however, I agree most ppl will not need more if it is stabel. I mean not more than 1 Mbps, not more than 10 GB, not more than 10 MB io. Who needs more should pay, that is perfectly reasonable.

I ran into this problem before. In their email they'll give you a link with the login information. Once you try to login to their site it'll say login failed on SolusVM.

Once it's redirected to the solusVM control panel, use that information again to login. That's what worked for me.

Constant downtime is one notable feature on Host1Free.

Error estableciendo una conexión con la base de datos (Over 3 days without MySQL)

  • @Dekken said: I/O speed : 12.8MB/s

    Mine is more like 1.5MB/s

    [root@server /]# uptime
    04:48:13 up 42 days, 20:11, 0 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

    [root@server /]# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 19.9486 s, 53.8 MB/s

I've had this since long time ago. But I didn't use it for now (confused what to do).

  • you are lucky @Melita. mine is only 12MB/s

  • 12MB? I wish.

Good luck with your vps guys

mine is being replaced by a fresh installation of apache on CentOS

    94.249.246.192

    ps:
Still cant login to ssh or solus

  • Still cant login to ssh or solus

    what node are you?

I'm on node7 and had problems booting it up last week but it's back up now...

  • Mine still up for 38 days

  • dd if=/dev/zero of=iotest bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 159.305 s, 6.7 MB/s

    Node 3

  • Uptime is good, but VPS looks a bit useless for most things :(

Even for simply ping tests, because pings drifting
within 40-200 milliseconds from the same location...

The same things with packet loss.

It may be better just to forget about it for a while :)

Anyway thanks to Host1Free, they tried to do something good for us.

    I'm on node 9..

    dd if=/dev/zero of=iotest bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out

I find it usable, it doesnt have great uptime and great io, but it is still usable.

  • I'm not really sure whether this belongs here but I'm sure that some people would like a comparison.

    http://serialthrilla.us.to/2012/08/host1free-vps-benchmark-comparison/

What I'm going to say about these VPSs: Total BS.

  • MaouniqueMaounique Host Rep, Veteran

As I said, I maintain my opinion, it is usable for a small site, for example, io doesnt matter if you only have a visitor now and then, also bw is ok for this purpose.
Sure, it is not even at the average of leb offers but I have seen worse hosts that charge for similar services.
    Not lately, tho.

Takes ~30 minutes to complete the following command:

    [root@gratis]# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 509.634 s, 2.1 MB/s
    [root@gratis]#
