I'm aware of that but this money is obviously still being funneled back to russia, otherwise they wouldn't be offering russian only payment methods or crypto with low fees and the stuff that everyone else can use has a 10% fee.
I don't think is a consumer's fault that Russia businesses can not receive money easily from some banking systems due to western politics. With Russian origins, Aeza did not have much choice with regards to payments.
Problem however is if it is a scam, or if it takes money for a service not provided. So far the bulletproof brands went down. Nobody knows what future brings at this stage, but it clearly does not look as a bright future.
EDIT: I believe this will turn into a popcorn drama, but this is just me maybe. I hope to be wrong, for consumer's sake.
I'm not really blaming them for having to do this. But the implications that your server might disappear 1 day randomly is not good for anybody. They should really move out of Russia to give people a more stable experience.
Absolutely correct. As providers they calculate the business options and establsh terms for clients, so they can attract customers and setup contracts beneficial for all parties involved. In the end, a business is about profits and happy customers.
It depends. A business must be allowed to function, as long as it obeys the legal aspects. Sometimes people are attracted by something which is forbidden, including hosting in Russia or even North Korea, but this is not a carte blanche for abuses.
In my case: I don't care if a business is in Europe, Asia, America or whatever, as long as it works and has an attractive price. We are all humans and we must respect one another for our evolution, even though some greedy corporations and politicians hang on to the worldwide control by any means - but this is a different discussion so we need not go that far.
If they want that market then they should only sell servers in russia. By trying to sell to both kinds of customers, one will suffer.
@AezaHost commented on the OGF if anyone's interested.
Hello, I am an official agent.
Recently, the well-known German government-funded publication correctiv released an investigation accusing us of working and serving Kremlin propaganda.
This is an absolute fabrication that has nothing to do with reality. We do not work with governments and are completely independent.
And now we will explain why. All our European VPS are hosted on servers from Hetzner.
They are very cheap and we can order them by the hundreds and thousands. You don't need any funding for this, especially from any country.
You just have to make a few clicks, pay $200, wait a little while and then our automatic system will add the server to our European cluster.
It's very easy, fast, cheap, and allows us to grow very quickly without any investment, and provide the highest quality servers possible. This is exactly what we are guilty of.
We reliably know that at least one major European hoster appealed to the German government, labelling us as a threat to the national security of Germany, his words - we can quietly order 1000 new nodes spending little money and minimum effort, arrange huge discounts and actually destroy the hosting market in Germany.
For this reason the information campaign against us started. More than half of the mentioned AS in the article have nothing to do with us at all.
We have not received any complaints about ‘twin sites’. And those AS that were served through us we have switched off, but even during their work we received almost no complaints. Except for complaints from anonymous trolls, which in our opinion were competitors of these AS.
However, the campaign against us has not stopped, and continues. Although we don't have anything illegal located on our site, and we always respond to all complaints.
So what is happening now is not just pressure on business, but on freedom of speech.
More than 80% of our clients use the servers for VPN, to bypass blocking and get access to independent information. (screenshot with AS traffic statistics)
And the beginning of the information campaign against us surprisingly coincided with the beginning of the YouTube slowdown in Russia.
The date of publication of this article is 11. Juli 2024.
The beginning of YouTube slowdown - 12 July, exactly one day after the article was published.

The current actions of the ‘fighters for honesty’ are purely a crackdown on honest business, freedom of speech and working for Russia.
After all, why spend huge amounts of money on complex DPIs when you can restrict access at the expense of the German government?
One of their wishes was to force us to choose sides in the conflict.
They achieved that and we had to write the words above, so now the possibility of our AS being blocked in Russia has grown tremendously. As a result of which hundreds of thousands of people may lose access to free internet.
We try to avoid unnecessary noise and do not want to continue this discussion.
The newsletter was sent in a ticket, no one refused to do a refund, attach proof.
We alerted all users.
Confirmed Fake Locations.
No, it's just that this location isn't popular and no one bought it, we'd rather focus on the main locations and develop them. It's not profitable to keep locations that aren't popular.
You had assigned a whole /23 and x2 /24s to that location, and all except the last /24 was almost full of PTR records with services.
Maybe not as popular as your other locations, but in my eyes, it was sustainable to keep.
It's obviously your decision, as long as you announce the closure and give refunds, seems fine. But 3 days in advance is very little.
Not all customers have responded so we are leaving it until the 1st of August, we are very loyal to customers
Aeza again talks about evil competitors, better tell us how you organized the criminal activities of Lethost and ZeroHost.
Which were working on your networks and had your 1 to 1 location.
They were running on your hardware, I'm pretty sure you were the one running those hosting sites.

Dear Dessgun, these organisations have nothing to do with us, initially they were given IP-transit as a service, as soon as they started to receive official complaints, we stopped providing them with services.
This is bullshit fabricated to shut up the criticism.
The Russian state is known for requiring root access to servers*, and since Aeza is a Russian company, they can't avoid this in any way, whether they want to or not.
Local registration in other countries doesn't change anything. All Russian providers are a tool in the hands of the Russian government.

What the hell are you talking about again?
You kept them for exactly two years, gave them subnets.
And your hardware, they never left your side.
Their Moscow location was running
AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ 3990X.
And when you added the i9 14900K it miraculously showed up a month later at their location, is that a coincidence?
Or when you opened the Paris location, they had it 8 days later.
You're reducing it to politics, we serve clients from different countries, we have a British legal entity, we pay taxes in Europe. We have no prejudice, we have nothing to do with politics, business is business.
Heck, you didn't get any complaints about them? You didn't know what they were doing?
Yes, I personally wrote to you and asked why you kept them and what they were doing.
And you told me that we don't care what they do, we give them networks and equipment and will continue to do so and it's none of your business what they do.
You name popular processor models that come on the market at 50% of hosters. Does that mean they have something to do with it too? We just follow the trends like everyone else. Soon the new Ryzen will be released, it will appear at Hetzner and at buletpruf hosts, some of which are hosted and resold by Hetzner, why don't you blame them?
Two years?
You fucking clown, what's with the childish excuses again?
Do you realize that when you opened new locations they appeared on LetHost about the same week?
How did they get 3990x in Moscow?
Those were your servers.
Two, years those bastards have had them
And Russian law is Russian law.
When a Russian government agency contacts Aeza.ru and demands access to a server in any country, you as a Russian have the option to comply or go to jail.
Two years ago, I contacted the law enforcement authorities of St. Petersburg and provided them with data on the connection of LetHost and ZeroHost with Aeza, but received the answer that in Russia it is not forbidden to keep such hosting under Rat etc. but it is forbidden to use servers for such activities
Can you find proof of this in federal laws? I thought that ISP can be held accountable if they knowingly allowed illegal activity.
I don't know about these laws, I'm telling you the answer I got from the man in uniform.
Yesterday I contacted him again and told him that LetHost was shut down by the FBI and he asked me to file a criminal complaint against Aeza again
I have a question for the community Let why this garbage is not blocked yet?
There have been dramas here already because of DMCA and here it's direct complicity with carding, RATs and botnets.
Dear Dessgun, I repeat once again, we have nothing to do with the above-mentioned hosting. You are too aggressive in communication, further argument has no sense. If I'm not mistaken, we communicated with you in Telegram, we can continue to communicate there, your nickname is very familiar to me, you have been following us for a long time, you have a personal dislike for our brand.
Damn it, I promised you that I will write a post about you on this forum and I will do it, yes I have a dislike for you since 2021, when I lost a lot of money because of your past project MskHost.
Focus on your Hostiko project and don't attack Russian hosters simply because of their nationality.
