AMD EPYC Genoa Poll + Feedback

AdvinAdvin Member, Patron Provider

Hello everyone,

We're working on introducing AMD EPYC Genoa at Advin Servers!

We were just wondering about some feedback regarding potential pricing for Genoa series servers

Ideally, these are the plans that we plan on doing:

AMD EPYC 9554 (4 vCPU)
1 dedicated, 3 burstable
8GB DDR5 ECC Memory
80GB RAID10 Gen4 NVMe SSD
Unmetered Fair Use (10 Gbit)
$8/month - $18/quarter - $48/year

AMD EPYC 9554 (8 vCPU)
2 dedicated, 6 burstable
16GB DDR5 ECC Memory
160GB RAID10 Gen4 NVMe SSD
Unmetered Fair Use (10 Gbit)
$16/month - $36/quarter - $96/year

AMD EPYC 9554 (16 vCPU)
4 dedicated, 14 burstable
32GB DDR5 ECC Memory
320GB RAID10 Gen4 NVMe SSD
Unmetered Fair Use (10 Gbit)
$32/month - $72/quarter - $192/year

All plans would be backed by a 24 hour support response SLA guarantee and priority support. These specifications are subject to a bit of change, but ideally we'll most likely try to aim for Genoa 9554.

Is this pricing too high? Also, is there a location that you would prefer for these Genoa servers to be deployed in? Ideally we're aiming for either Nuremberg or Los Angeles because we have our own blend, rackspace, switches, IP ranges, etc in these locations making it the easiest option versus relying on reseller cocation providers.

Any feedback for this hypothetical lineup would be appreciated!

P.S: I know these are technically past the LET pricing limits, but these are not offers or being actively offered and probably won't be for at least 1-2 months, pricing and specifications may also change as this new lineup gets finalized.

What location for Genoa?

    1. Nuremberg (Germany)

    2. Los Angeles (United States)

  • That's attractive, will we get the ability to customize certain things or are the plans static?

Ideally they'd stay static, but I'd be open to do an in-between plan like 12GB/24GB/48GB/64GB/96GB

  • When 7 became 8? Is this indirect insult for LET community? Price is everything!

Probably early or mid 2024 for Genoa in Singapore :'(

  • This is great pricing.

    Want more dallas.

  • It should be great if it's in LA. A bonus question, I know it's hard to offer too much space on RAID10 with NVMe, but is there any possibility of additional storage? That would be much better.

  • That yearly pricing is really good!

Hi everyone, I had a small question, what do you think of Intel Sapphire Rapids compared to Genoa? Like Intel Xeon Silver 4416+ or 8468

I can maybe get it for a bit cheaper but curious about what people think about Sapphire Rapids. Most likely will stick with Genoa though

Maybe in the future we will have some sort of block storage plan where you can add as much storage as you want but for now it's unfortunately not possible :'( I could consider RAID5 but that would make it unprem

We have our own network/rack/etc in Los Angeles and Nuremberg so the infrastructure is more developed in those 2 locations versus Miami where we are with shared colo/resellers

Would people like to see a preorder? Deployment date is most likely November 20th or so, it's quite late

What are the gb5 scores for sapphire rapids?

I will increase the price by 50% now and then I'll do a 50% pre-order special just for you in 2 weeks (hoping that you forget about the price increase)
