    Just have a simple YABS test for SJC 1T storage...I think EPYC 7643 should have a higher score B) @NDTN

    Mine benchmarked at 781 single core, 1462 multi-core about 2 hours ago. Might just be people benchmarking/setting up.

    Does IPv6 work on yours? It's dead on mine.

    I got the SJC 500 GB and the GB5 score is also around the 500-600 mark, I think tons of ppl got their VPS and are hammering the host.

    @NDTN, currently looking for another VPS, mind I ask you if there will be a Christmas/New Year's sale? Thanks!

    It works fine on Ubuntu22. If you use Debian you can configure the IPv6 in /etc/network/interfaces

    Which DC are you moving to in Dallas?

    Nexeon, same address as our current provider (Psychz).

    The bandwidth in Dallas appears to be several times slower than those in other locations like UK, Germany, San Jose, and Romania, even though Dallas provides a 10G port. This has been happening for a few weeks now. Is the above upcoming change in DC in Dallas related to this issue?

    I had some invalid /64 block when I looked 'ip a'. After deleting that everything worked
    ip addr del 2607:9000:8000:22:NNNN:ZZZZ:YYYY:XXXX/64 dev eth0

    ip addr del 2607:9000:8000:22:NNNN:ZZZZ:YYYY:XXXX/64 dev eth0

    Deleting that and then adding

    net.ipv6.conf.all.autoconf = 0
    net.ipv6.conf.all.accept_ra = 0
    net.ipv6.conf.eth0.autoconf = 0
    net.ipv6.conf.eth0.accept_ra = 0

    to /etc/sysctl.conf seems to be working. (First ping6 after deleting the bad address gave Destination unreachable: Address unreachable, while further pings worked, and this is the same solution I used on my RackNerd box that has identical problem)

    Thanks.

    Yeah, it started dying exactly 10 hours ago, but for some time it was actually reachable from few locations until it died completely.
    If anything, this partial availability should told him that something is going on with the network not individual vps, but poor guy was determined to fix my vps no matter what. He's otherwise very helpful guy and I felt almost sorry for him :smile:

    We have found a temp solution to fix the IPv6, it should work now. We will proceed with replacing it with a /64 block next week. Announcement emails will be sent when it's ready.

  • SJC 1TB received... impressed to see the renewal date is based on the delivery date and not on the order date - I'd been quietly grumbling about that to myself as I waited and I shouldn't have :)

    One thing: on a Ubuntu22.04 installation, attempting to install Hestia complains that there's no netplan configuration file. Netplan is new to me... I've already broken the machine once trying to build it myself. Any suggestion as to what I should be putting in the yaml file to keep both Hestia and the VPS happy?

    I hear SolusVM v2 is a complete disaster.

    Each VM can only use a single IPv6 address, but cannot use any other address in the assigned subnet.
    This is unacceptable.

    @NDTN many thanks for your reply. I created my original ticket on 15 December, so it's already been one week where my Dallas VPS has slow network performance. This is a bit of a shame because all of my other VPSes with your company have been perfect so far.

    Could we put a clock on it? Say, if this issue does not get resolved within a few days, could I kindly request for my VPS to be moved to another location without any such bandwidth issues?

    Thank you.

    It works! :)
    But hey, my post yesterday wasn't complain at all, I was just giggling a bit how much effort poor guy (who's otherwise competent tech - I dealt with him in the past) invested in "fixing" my vps instead of simple check NL IPv6 network - as I told him several times :) Thank you for further explanation - highly appreciated.
    Otherwise I still think that your support team response speed and willingness to work with clients immediately is something many other hosts here around can learn from and take as a good example how to do things right.

    Since I'm new, I missed the BF sale and currently looking for a cheap VPS in APAC.
