Cloud instances would usually have a very high and stable uptime due to the HA infrastructure, clusters, SRMs etc.

Personally, my jump server at OVHCloud (FR) has the highest uptime and has been very stable - currently at 712 days and 500+ prior to that.

Next on the list would be my NexusBytes SG KVM and LiteServer.

  • Generally, Azure and GCP. I've got tens of VMs, yet never had a downtime.

Low-end providers specifically, Linode and Vultr, and maybe RamNode (up for approx. 1~2 yrs).

My Hetzner CX11 in Falkenstein uptime.

    15:04:23 up 543 days, 2:07, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.02, 0.00

  • online.net. 99.9997% after one and half year and the downtime is only because I was doing software upgrading and rebooting.

offtopic: don't you reboot after kernel/glibc updates or are you using kernelcare or similar?

Most providers that provide good support responses are providing pretty stable performances on their vps.

That would be my concern too. There's nothing particularly special about supremely high uptime if you don't have the security patches to complement it. I'd rather a secure system that gets rebooted every couple months for kernel security patches.

    Time4vps.
the only time I rebooted is when I screwed up and issuing reboot command at the wrong ssh window.

  • i had a server with hetzner that had uptime of 1500+ days. Unfortunately i had to destroy it because it had ubuntu yaketty os and i could not update nor install anything when i come to know all packages are outdated. i was not aware of Ubuntu LTS things.

Linode has kept me as a client for 13 years because its product is so reliable.

  • My VPS at Racknerd in Chicago has been rock solid since I got it almost 2 years ago. No down time ever or slow throughput issues.

    OVHCloud VPS

I have a 1 vCore 2GB RAM 20GB SSD promo in Virginia for $19/year, I got 2. One of them is on 400+ days of uptime. I use it to run general scripts, Discord bots, or anything that needs uptime but doesn't require high performance.

    • Some of my small VirMach VPS has very good uptime
    • DediPath KVM (New York location)

Previously HostUS (Charlotte location) was very good uptime, but there was some problem (for example: vps location migration, etc) so the good uptime gone :(

Depends what you mean exactly. I count as uptime provider uptime, not my reboots/reinstalls/mistakes. Yeah, I was in the wrong terminal window...

  • Look at what I've found back in 2014, the blue-ish LET.

The wheel turns, yet nothing changes.
