I'm sure no one will have an objection to you doing it!

Fingers crossed! This enthusiast needs a voucher to get those snapshots for the servers.

    Happy new year to everyone!

  • @servarica_hani I would suggest PMing FAT32 and asking about his ETA before going all in and doing it manually and wasting hours on that :P
There is a chance that he missed this tag after taking a break for family stuff (prolly like millions of notifications) and simple PM could help :)

Yup that's my bad :( Just thank this post if you are still ok with me doing it and I will do it straight away. Really sorry for that.

Even then I think Hani has already done extracting the list but just didn't draw the names :) Thanks for organising the giveaway!

    Hi All

So the time of the year has come and we have some of our best offers to you

This year you will see dome familiar offers which were in very high demand the last year plus some completely new offers linup

Some of the new ideas we are adding this year are

1- Unmetered 1gbps storage offers (Eagle lineup)
2- Hybrid Storage / SSD offers (Salamander lineup)
3- Allow users who want to run torrent on the Storage offers to do so as long as they accept the fact that we will put torrent users on different servers than non torrent users (less performance due to torrent use)

Unfortunately not all Hardware we ordered got delivered on time so for the Storage offers there will be up to 2 weeks delay for delivery , NVMe and SSD offers are in stock

To make this post more SPICY we decided to do the following giveaway
5x 50$ credit (rules at the end of the post)

The plans and all our BF offers are here
    https://clients.servarica.com/store/black-friday-2021

All the plans can be seen through this table to make it easier to compare

The disk speed test was only performed on the SSD as I haven't set up the HDD partitions yet. I'll note that the storage partitions are 2x 2 TB HDD partitions instead of 1x 4 TB HDD partitions (I was expecting 1x 4 TB). Also, the speed to my residential connection is abysmal (I'm in New England, USA), around 40 Mbit.

I'm in the process of contacting support. I know there are ways around this like setting up software raid but... ehh... I'm in the process of feeling it out before I figure out if I want to continue with this server.

Based on maxing out the gigabit link to Florida and California from Montreal, the problem is likely your ISP.

That's a plausible statement and I would agree. But I think it's more likely somewhere in between as (testing right afterwards to assess my own network) I'm still getting my full speed at the time of data collection (to a mix bag of networks).

BGP shows they're using two primary networks: https://bgp.he.net/AS26832#_asinfo

MTR (both ways) is showing pure cogent then my ISP which would suggest it shouldn't be a problem, but ehh I haven't spent a lot of time to really debug it as... I mean it's only like 15 dollars a month.

I'm planning on keeping an eye on it and checking later, but my initial opinion suggests something weird is happening in the middle.

@servarica_hani - offers are still limited as in that table?

yes still but most likely will remove the limits in 2 weeks from now

The disk speed test was only performed on the SSD as I haven't set up the HDD partitions yet. I'll note that the storage partitions are 2x 2 TB HDD partitions instead of 1x 4 TB HDD partitions (I was expecting 1x 4 TB). Also, the speed to my residential connection is abysmal (I'm in New England, USA), around 40 Mbit.

thats a limitation in xenserver/xcp-ng , they are using vhd file format to store the vm which is limited to 2TB so we have to present 4TB as 2x 2TB

currently we have prototype code that overcome this issue but we need more testing before making it in production

I think you should just do the draw! BarkingIron needs a voucher to get a storage VPS going lol :)

Do you have a YABS for it?

Maybe the draw was made, but nobody won, simply because the chosen random numbers were much higher than the number of entries, so nobody won.

Such outcome was quite expected though, as the chances were very slim for any participant to begin with.

I know I have been saying sorry more times than I wish. I haven't open the file yet but here's a SHA256 hash to the seed that I am going to use.

You won't be. And good luck will go on and on. There are 11 months ahead, not very far from the next draw.

  • Congratulations.
