1/4 of the normal one. Do they ignore DMCA?
No idea, I checked the torrent box because PeerTube uses webtorrent for distributing the videos, not for "sharing Linux ISOs." The transcoding speed is significantly faster on my flying fish VPS with the same nominal specs.
Out of curiosity: what is this "torrent" checkbox? (looks like a recent addition to the control panel and ordering process)
"I will use this VPS to torrent so please place me in legal torrent node (Torrent node will have less performance than non torrent node) (If your torrent generate abuse it is not allowed )"
nice offers
Weird.
Who would check a "Please give me less performance" box?
Is polar worth over Opossum for the ivp4 and extra 1 TB?
Great offers
Order #8988321700 thank you
We are delivering everything immediately except Opossum
We are working on delivering Opossum soon as well
by the way Opossum is out of stock now
Not related we have some servers ready and some not , the only thing not ready yet is Opossum servers but we are working on using another hardware just not to let the users wait for so long
A lot of users were complaining that they want to run torrent on the nodes
Although we market those nodes as storage nodes we dont have restriction what you are running on them , actually we want users to use them in all possible ways as long as it is legal
We dont care what the users run but torrent do affect the performance of the whole node which affect the users who does not want to torrent
So in the last year we banned torrents , now since we have much more storage servers we decided to divide them to torrent friendly nodes and non torrent node
if you check the box you will be put on torrent friendly node which means you can run torrent all day long but the performance for sure will be affected since others on same node may also run torrents
That does not mean we will let the torrent nodes performance be very bad , we will optimize and make it better as always
Also another thing torrent and non torrent nodes are using same raidz2 so the data is safe (even if you choose torrent this is not seeding box , we protect the data and will do all we can to prevent data loss unlike seedboxes where the forcus is performance not data safety )
Finally we dont ignore DCMA , so if you torrent and the we get DCMA we will act on it and you may suspended (we dont check what you are doing but if we get complaint we forward and too much complaints means suspension)
Exactly, if the server won't boot due to some reason, I can enter rescue mode to mount the disk and check the system.
I upgraded to salamnder package and lost it its now 70 mbps
