    Almost there.

    Latest update:

    • GTT has provisioned their end, provided LOA's, and IP addresses. All good.
    • Transport services have been provisioned. All good here too.
    • XC #1 (Root<->Cegecom) has been provisioned, ports are lit. Almost there.
    • XC #2 (Cegecom<->GTT) was ordered last week and we expect it to be live any day now.

Luxconnect is the datacenter on both ends of the XC, just in different campuses (LU1 being where GTT/HE/etc is). They handled XC #1 quickly (< 2 weeks, likely even less), so we expect XC #2 to be even faster (given cegecom does XC's all day every day, so should be no delays).

The minute I get an nodeping UP alert for the GTT IP block, we'll start pushing :)

Can these slices be used for streaming Recorded Videos?

Sure, that's fine assuming you buy a plan with enough bandwidth.

    ;)

I'm literally in Miami as we speak waiting on a crate delivery. YRC Freight fucked around in Dallas for over a week before moving things further, even though we paid for 5 days guaranteed service.

Its been a real shit show with a lot of "What am I paying for then??" to both UShip and YRC. Literally the only reason I picked YRC over centraltransport while on UShip's site is because UShip offered guaranteed 5 day delivery for an added cost.

Oh well, it's currently scheduled to be dropped off on Tuesday. I've extended my hotel stay until next Friday.

Would that mean you could finally get rid of the HE tunnel?

    Yer damn right.

We're still considering LUCIX, maybe take only a couple gigs on it instead of a full 10gig.

EDIT - GTT gets a full V6 table so it'd go GTT->HE, but it'd at least fill in the gaps that are in the Cogent table.

Vegas has a bit left :)

LUX & NY are out for now. I'll send another bit of gear to NY once I'm back from Miami.

    Thank you for the interest!

    New stock today?

  • KassemKassem Member

Is there any redundancy in the block storage servers? What happens when one or more drives die?

If using RAID, would love to read about the (inevitable (when you have gigantic amount of storage)) experiences of rebuilding arrays here: https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/171943/raid-rebuild-times

    RAID10.

We rebuild as needed :) there's spare drives in LU if that happens.

Nice. Sorry if this seemed ignorant, LU is a storage logical unit (server) and the spare drives are automatically switched on failure? did I understand that correctly?

    Karen will restock tomorrow :)

She's about to fly back to Vegas so she wants to be around to watch over things.

DTAG has been swapped over to GTT and reports are very good! If anyone else is on DTAG and can test, that'd be great!

If that's the case it should be fine.

We have to have accurate records for fraud reasons. We're not a fan of 'chargebacks being a cost of business' type mentality. We get well < 10 chargebacks a year and lose 1 or less per year.

Could be it's overheating, we've had a few do that. You can ticket and ill look :)

I've been getting some shrouds 3d printed and it helps a LOT in keeping these things cooled.
